I had surgery at Pres downtown on 12/13. It was the first time I was ever all alone in the holding bags and also the first time I was ever taken in to an Operating Room completely coherent. I found myself overwhelmed with the surroundings and goings on and after being assisted on to the operating table, I just laid there and started bawling. Almost immediately my anesthesiologist noticed. She put her head down on the table against my left cheek, stroked my right cheek and told me I would feel better in a minute. It’s the last thing I remember, but I will never forget this lady, Laurie Stein. Thank you for being such a compassionate human being!

This is outrageous!! Last May the incompetent scheduler finally, scheduled an appointment with Dr. Husen, Otolaringologist for the next August 28th 3:30P

A working day (Friday 9/25) before the appointment, they sent me a “reminder” about the appointment saying that an audiogram will be required in order to be able to keep my appointment!!! I thought that they called the wrong person!
Noup! it was right I needed the mentioned test before my appointment (set it more than THREE months before…. What kind of people work there. Even the supervisor did not care about it. He only reschedule it on NOVEMBER!!! No respect for patients at all. Unfortunately, we have to live with all these incompetent , unsensible/unempathetic “healthcare” service people. Certainly, they are trained to deal with humans they should not care about their health needs.

My daughter delivered her baby, yesterday 06/08/2022. My She was admitted for Induction on 06/07/2022. The first procedure was a vaginal pill, then a balloon cathyder, and the last was Petosin. Her Epiderol was given after the balloon & she delivered 24 hours later. She was also given a button to push for more of the Epiderol medication which she used. My questiion is…. why all these procefures before the Petosin and the Epuderol too? I had my same daughter at this same hospital where they induced me, gave me the Epiderol about 3 hours later, when my contractions became intense & I delivered 13 hours later with no pain at all. I was 36 years old, my daughter is 25. She had an intense delivery… as if she deluvered natural. They suctioned the baby out after 3 1/2 hours of pushing, because she was Exhausted! I feel she should have been induced with the Petosin, given the epiderol when needed so it wouldn’t have a chance to wear off. She started having feeling in her feet and legs about 8 hours before she delivered. It was traumatizing to see and hear her crying and screaming at delivering.

The nurses on the short term recovery ward were abusive. They interrogated myself and my husband about my medical history, which had no relevance to treating my post-surgical pain. If a patient is in the hospital for pain management and observation after a surgery, it is untenable for nures to chastize a patient for having diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic illnesses, etc. Nurses are not to place judgment on a patient's medical history. That information is used to explain why certain medications may not be safe or effective for the patient, and to alert the healthcare staff of potential secondary problems that could arise for the patient. Many nurses threatened to withhold my pain medication, they took their time in treating my pain, and I felt like I was a prisoner. There was no compassion or empathy expressed by any of the floor nurses. The entire experience was traumatizing and the nurses clearly misused their perceived power. These women were not nurturing, they were cruel.
