Extremely dissapointed with lack of proper pain management while in the hospital twice in 5 days for problems with hypoglycemia and 13 years of cogestive heart failure. I am 70, and also a recent cancer patient, as well as having newly diagnosed kidney disease. I was having horrible chest pain, with a highly elevated blood pressure of 158 over 96. I pleaded for some pain medication, and was given 2 Tylenol, and a plastic device to improve breathing after surgery. My blood pressure was never checked again! Upon leaving, my vitals were not checked! I was treated with abject suspicion and disdain, as though I were faking my high blood pressure to try and get narcotics. I demanded my release so I could go home and be miserable and maybe die. I was handed a paper saying I was leaving without proper medical authorization. If I'd signed it, my insurance could have denied my entire claim. Over the last 8 years, I've been a patient here many times, and have normally gotten great care. I will think twice before trusting my life to Providence Medical Center ever again. Not acceptable.

I have always had great experiences at this facility. I have no issues other than my wifes wedding ring got stolen off her finger when she was in emergency and security didn't seem to be able to track it or the person who took it down.

Great doctors & nurses. Very caring & knowlegable. If there is a choice when I go by ambulance, or just arrive by car, St Vincent will be my first and only choice. I could not ask for better care.

Dr. Page of Providence (east) gave my aunt false hope. After she found out she was not eligible for a clinical trial she was betting her life on, he told her there were multiple options for her. He listed the options and was willing to help but did not do his research on my aunts case ahead of time. Her primary oncologist was Dr. Lewis who told my aunt that the options Dr. Page had given her would kill her faster and not save her from her cancer. Dr. Page should of done his proper research ahead of time and not have given my aunt and my family false hope. It was heartbreaking and I hope he receives this message to save future patience from this pain!

This is the only hospital my husband or I will attend. We live over an hour away, and will not go to any hospitals that are 40 minutes closer. The staff at the Providence has always been very courteous and caring, has always made us feel like we were important and that they actually wanted to help. We have never felt like we were a bother, even when they have been packed full of people….. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a good hospital.
