Came into because of projectile vomiting and diarrhea, waited an hour for the doctor and then asked the receptionist where they were and was told that they haven’t assigned anyone to me. And the guy told me that if I’m ok to walk then I can go 🚶‍♀️

I was a patient in Royal North Shore and found that 90% of the Nurses were 10 out of 10 a few should never taken up nursing as a profession.
Doctors exceptional. My first 6 days my bed was never made or linen changed and I was never even offered and kind of body wash.
As for the food, it was disgusting, how they can turn perfectly good food into the rubbish that was served to me astounded me. A weekly menu was issued to me to fill in but they just delivered what they wanted. I’m Diabetic and it is noted but they continually send up Food, not ordered, Full of Sugar, made no difference how many times I complained.
My opinion is there are people employed in the system that JUSt DON’T CARE

I have asked for a drink as I can’t get out of bed . I have been waiting 19 minutes, I’m very thirsty. The staff is not trained well.?

Some of the nurses are very lazy, you have to ask them several times before they do any thing. For you like get you pane med.

Totally unacceptable, my wife was waiting 11 hours in the emergency waiting room before the doctor finally come to see her after she complained for the third time. To then be told she needs emergency surgery. Do you need to be rolling around on the floor screaming just to get seen by someone?

This gratitude acknowledgment is long overdue. Last year I was taken by ambulance to RNS after a routine GP visit. Doctor Ben Gould was in the Emergency section. His professionalism, kindness and communication demonstrated the qualities of an outstanding practitioner. His questioning techniques and diagnostic skills were height-calibre and admirable. Doctor Gould's caring bedside manner was exemplary.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Royal North Shore Hospital. We had to spend over a week at the hospital due to our babies complicated birth, and we felt exceptionally well cared for the entire time. The NICU nurses and midwives are phenomenal, we couldn't have asked for more professional and personable staff. We would highly recommend birthing at Royal North Shore Hospital, and the MGP program too where you will get continuity of care with a great midwife.

We were visiting my dad who was a cancer patient and had to be placed in the cardiology department as there was no other spare rooms. He was a palliative care patient who was in his last days. The female receptionist in the cardiology department was rude, condescending, racist and did not have any empathy at all and stated that she would report us and treated us like criminals. At the time there were no signs stating that only one visitor was allowed in the patient room and she got angry that we violated the rules as there was two of us visiting. We spoke to her manager who was kind and understanding of our situation. Funny how this female receptionist treated western patients in the ward with a smile and spoke to them with respect but not to us who were Asians. Never again will I go to that hospital it was such a horrid experience to be treated like dirt when my dad was on the last part of his journey. Honestly hope she is no longer working as a receptionist as she's not fit for her job.

I was driven to NS Emergency with chest pains and recent history of heart problems on a Sunday evening. Was able to dropped right at the door, was quickly attended to, placed in EM Ward and well cared and monitored / tested for several hours before being transferred to main ward for a night, then private ward for another night, with a bunch of tests in between. Hand off between nurses and doctors was very good. The specialist team explained results and prognosis well. Hospitals are too be avoided, but if I had to be in one I would go back to RNS. Only minor complaints were sitting in a drafty corridor in what felt like a basement waiting 30 min for CT Angio scan and the discharge report not listing all the tests that were run in one document. Thanks team!

Cane here to have something removed from my head and was told to wait there were 6 people in front. They kept putting me at back of the queue, spoke to me like trash. Was there for nearly 6 hours they clearly saw my issue as trivial.
