Terrible experience at this hospital. Was treated like garbage and yes, I understand there I a shortage of workers, but the ones that are there should be doing their job properly. Some are very judgemental and rude. Been in and out of emergency 10 times before another hospital finally admitted my son. This is so very sad and frustrating. We don’t ask for things to happen or wish to be in a hospital. Being treated like crap on top of it doesn’t help!!!

I took my 4 year old to the kid’s emergency during easter long weekend with a high fever of 40c. While my son sat for triages, the nurse spent minutes talking, laughing and gossiping with her co-worker. She had zero compassion for a sick tired toddler.
And the doctor was not quite experienced. She was not able to diagnose my son’s throat infection although she is a faculty at RUH. I am not sure how she trains medical students when she herself dies not have enough experience. What is the criteria for becoming a faculty???? Finally, after two nights trip to ER and spending about 6-7 hours therewith no clear answer, our family dr. diagnosed my son at first place.

staff is incredibly rude, rude nurses, very slow service. kicking patients out of the hospital when they claim they aren’t getting better, doctors complain about their job in front of other patients. I understand this is an EMERGENCY hospital and there are people who need help as fast as they can but half of the doctors don’t know what they are doing when there are patients passing out in the waiting room. Absolutely disgusted I had to witness a lot of people who are supposed to be idols to this world.

Horrible experience. Absolute gong show. You’re better off going to a witch doctor.

I am at a loss of words for what I can remember about my experiences at this place . I’ve been a patient at this hospital off and on my whole life . I had my splenectomy here when I was 8 and often came back before that and after until I was about 14 . I really used to like this hospital when I was growing up . A lot of the nurses from my child hood once still worked there and remembered my name years later . Anyways , now I’m just rambling on . I was back in the emergency just over a couple months ago . I ended up in the emergency after being on the streets for several days having multiple seizures and blacking in and out of consciousness in the course of a 5 day period . So , I don’t remember much about my experience this time other than the nurse telling me that they where going to transfer me over to Regina because I was having way to many seizures . Which I didn’t understand being at a hospital capeable of handling my current status . But , if I recall right the hospital staff was instructed to transfer me to Regina so I discharged myself and hopefully I don’t have to go back there . I don’t wanna leave the hospital in a bad light . Because I don’t remember the whole experience as they would but it wasn’t a great experience from what I can . To me this is still one of the better hospitals in the area but that’s my last experience and I am really unsure of what I can or can’t do about the situation but it will come eventually

It is not me my son after motor vehicle accident was transported to this Royal hospital by ambulance, after he had CTscan doctors determined that he have fractures in his spine but not bad enough to operate then right away he was discharged. Not even ask him if he have place to go , he live two hours away from Saskatoon. All the time since accident he was pumped full off pain meds. Very dizzy discharge, can bearly move and disoriented. Thats how the hospital there treats patients that should be at least keep him untill family members can pick him up. It is disgusting and dangerous. What is going on in our heath care??????

Dr. David Alvin Porter needs to lose his job before he causes a patient suicide. He blames patients for lack of appropriate boundaries, when that is the doctor's responsibility. He gets other doctors to cover for him instead of being held accountable. Really a pathetic excuse for a psychiatrist.

I've never met more ignorant nurses than I did in the day surgery area. My 16 year old has had numerous surgeries, and this was by far the worse. Put back into day surgery after recovery, checked on her twice, gave us discharge papers even before she was awake. Anything I asked I got met with an eye roll. If you hate your job that bad, quit. Seriously. I'm so disgusted by the nurses in day surgery. The only nurse we had that was amazing was one of the OR nurses. Avoid this place at all costs, ESPECIALLY if it's your kids.
