The only thing is I found the blue mattresses make it very hard to get comfortable and make a lot of noise when adjusting the bed. The food was exceptional

My experience at the Shouldice Hospital was a complete disaster. I had surgery there for a groin hernia. It was a failure, and only caused a huge amount of grief. It gave me chronic pain and discomfort, the repair failed, and I ended up needing diagnosis and additional surgery somewhere else to correct this mess as much as possible.
Many aspects of my surgery at Shouldice were bungled – it’s too traumatic to go over all the details here. The most important thing I can say based on my experience is: stay away and save yourself. Oh, yes – the food was really good. Maybe things would have turned out better if the cook had done my surgery.

I waited 9 months before posting this review. All I can say is they did a fantastic job. I have zero side effects, everyone was great to work with, Hospital has awesome food, wonderful grounds and everyone that works there is happy. My only mistake was waiting 3 years to get the operation and thinking I could fix it myself. If you considering a hernia repair don’t get a mesh repair, go to Shouldice, you won’t regret it.

I had surgery for inguinal hernia ..had it for at least 3 years but wasn’t bothering me..from 1st contact to surgery was about 2 months . I stayed for 4 days..the process was seamless and everything treatment wise great. I would return there if I had a reoccurrence .
