We had to take my dad into ER because he was experiencing intense symptoms due to pneumonia. It took about 5 hours to have all testing complete and an assessment about next steps. They said they were going to keep him over night in the hospital and put him on antibiotics. When I returned at 8am the next day, I found my dad in a dark room, with AC blasting down on him, shivering curled up in pain under urine soaked sheets!!!! I went outside and asked the first person I saw to please get my dad clean warm bedding. She said she woudl get my nurse. About 5 minutes later a woman in red named “Ruby” “Ru” was on the phone as I was trying to warm my dad with one little section of dry sheet. She then put her hand up and waved me off and walked away! When she came back in the room, she said that she just changed my dad’s sheets “two hours ago and it is not like he was being neglected”. I couldn’t believe that she was choosing her time to be defensive when I hadn’t even spoken to her yet. I simply said, “I am not here to down grade you. Clearly you are overwhelmed here. I am here for solutions and I would like to get my dad out of here as soon as possible because he will not in any way be able to heal in this environment.” A doctor came in who was much more compassionate and and understanding. Nobody had given my dad his Parkinson’s medications, he was never fed, and never got a bed up in the hospital. It took us about 3 hours to get him discharged. I feel my father would have been in a way worse health situation had we stayed there. I am thinking about all the people who don’t have an assertive advocate by their side and it is very sad to think. My father began recovering almost immediately after we left.

Employees at this hospital are the least compassionate health care workers I have ever encountered in my life. Not only they like empathy and compassion but they are extremely robotic. Why choose to work in healthcare if you don’t have these nurturing qualities? There should be a no cell phone policy for employees especially ones working in the emergency department. I think you all are a bunch of zombies.

When a handful of the worst nurses praise an inept Doctor working the ER floor that says a lot about the care here at St. Charles. From inappropriate jokes while your two month old child is writhing in pain to attempting to locate a minuscule hair follicle bound on a tiny toe without magnification—the circus is alive here in Bend. We’ve had incredible experiences in the pediatric ward but this is by far the worst ER I’ve ever visited. It’s clear their abhorrent staff were far from the top of their class in med school.

If you are a person suffering from chronic pain, do not go to the er. Any of them. I have many medical issues and 90% of them cause pain. They are all different issues, the worst being my spine. Over the last year I’ve been having intense pain that comes in waves. As it was radiating from my back, I just assumed that was the issue. I ended up in the er at least 7 times over the last year for pain relief because my Dr’s told me to go. At first they were cautious, which I understand. They took CT scans and x-rays and could not find anything different then was expected. Since i already have a back Dr and a neurosurgeon that I am actively seeing. Even if they didn’t see anything new, my spine is so jacked up there should have no doubt I was in pain. Yet they treated me like a drug seeker. Eventually I found out from a friend who works there that they do have a system which flags people as drug seekers, even though st charles denies they do this. The only time they were on the ball and believed me was when my back specialist called them and told them what steps to take. Even then, the neurologist ignored my Dr’s orders and did not take the images requested. When they couldn’t see anything different in the one mri they did, I was released, still in pain. I had to make a special trip to their outside imaging center to get the correct images, but yet again they only did the ones they thought pertinent, but what my back Dr and at this point my gp, had ordered. I went thru this for a year. My specialists were trying to find the issue so I have no complaints with them. My complaint is st charles did little to nothing to help me manage my pain. Almost exactly one year to the day I started having these “flare ups” I had an exploratory surgery preformed. The result was strictures in my abdomen were strangling a nerve that runs along the back and also one that was closing off my colon. These are valid issues that could have caused permanent damage and lasting pain. St Charles didn’t even bother to try.
If we complain or write a bad review they will direct you to their survey. If they respond at all is with the obligatory apology but that’s as far as it goes.
Oh and as far as cleanliness, after I had been released from one of my visits I was getting dressed. The nurse was still in the room. I went to put on my coat and found a lone pill on the floor. I showed it to the nurse and told her it wasn’t mine. The way she responded made me feel she thought I was lying and that the pill was actually mine.
St charles, you used to be THE place to go. Top Dr’s from around the country who came here for the lifestyle and set up practice. Nurses who actually cared and treated the patients with respect. Now it’s a giant, corporate, money grabbing POS!
I cannot say anything good about St Charles.
I find it funny while reading all the reviews in several different sites, St Charles overwhelmingly responds to positive reviews but only responds to about less then 1/4 of the reviews.
When I say my next thought, I’m sure this review will get taken down, but I’m going to say it anyway
There needs to be a class action suit against St Charles Medical Group. I think they forget we are paying them for their expertise. They work for us. They need to remember where their bread and butter come from

I won’t recommend this place to anyone. I needed a MRI or a cat scan but no just X-ray. I can’t believe they even have three Stars😓

The very worst medical facility I have ever experienced. I have been to hospitals all over the US. This is a sorry excuse for a hospital, especially for such a wealthy area.

The St Charles Mafia medical center is the worst medical facility ive ever visited. Very incompetent staff. The staff does not care about solving patient issues. They just care about money. I have been dealing with ongoing health issues. I was seen at Mosaic Medical where several vials of blood were drawn and to be sent to the lab at St Charles for testing. The only test was for Hepatitis C which I did not request and does nothing for me. I have been trying to have blood redrawn for testing and Mosaic Medical and St Charles medical continue to point fingers at each other and I am left with no answers and no help. I have contact both medical providers multiple times and each provider tells me its the others fault. St Charles contacts me for payment for the hepatitis C test but refuse to help me with completing the full test.

Terrible experience all around except With female aids and nurses. I had a male nurse that was not ok. Triggered my PTSD, talked down to me, physically roughed me up and NO patience. ON TOP of that, the"patient experience" staff NEVER called back, it's been days. Nice MONOPOLY!
