Rude triage nurses and doctors who don’t care at all.

I won’t go to this hospital due to negative experiences at the emergency room. I would rather suffer in silence than go to a hospital and leave feeling worse than I felt before I went in.

Horrible hospital that is full of lies. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel that this hospital, along with the rest, needs to be reevaluated by someone not involved in the health care system ANYWHERE in Newfoundland and Labrador; that way there won’t be a third party bias!

This hospital is the best hospital out of the three hospitals we have in St. John’s, but that’s not saying it’s good. Most of the staff only care about the money, but at least there appears to be more staff in this hospital that care about the patients than there are that only care about the money!

I was here in November for three days due to a bad reaction to a prescription. I was treated horribly. Dr. Gregory Butler called me a "frequent flyer" - I have never been that. The ONLY time I was frequently there was in 2020, when we couldn't see (or reach) our own doctors! I had no choice then and when I went to the hospital then it wasn't seeking drugs or for something like a hang nail; it was for things that had to be treated, such as a UTI! I don't go to the doctor for fun! Anyway, I won't be back. I would rather suffer in silence than come here and have my mental health destroyed, which this place did many times.

Very mixed experience here. Poor treatment in the ER, good treatment once admitted. Doctor initially dismissive but once I was admitted, was fine. They did help me and I am grateful. But getting that help should not be such an ordeal. There are communications issues between triage, ER and medical floor which I was able to manage, but that shouldn't be the job of the patient.

My stay here was very well and kind fully respected. The staff at emergency services was tremendous and filled with compassion. I was served with the greatest amount of love and respect. Dr Babb who overseen me treated me with dignity and respect. Her professionalism was at its highest. The staff on 4East 4 103 C treated me with respect and kindness. All the staff were very patient with me and treated me with care and respect. Overall I had the best treatment and will be forever grateful. I thank my Good for their well and truly blessed service Ralph Webber

I had an experience that is pushing me to never seek any medical attention again, ESPECIALLY AT THE ER. I dealt with two rude triage nurses and a rude nurse practitioner due to a phobia. Never again.

I recently went to this emergency room after inhaling lethal fumes. Even though I wasn't going to die, I was advised to go to the hospital because the symptoms I had after - severe coughing, burning throat, difficulty breathing. I went to this hospital since I have had horrific experiences at the Health Sciences Centre; I was driven to attempt suicide in September 2021 due to the way I was treated when I was there for a few days. When I arrived, the triage nurse humiliated me; I didn't even say why I was there. The nurse said that she knew my MCP Card Number off by heart because she saw me "numerous times". I'm not a "frequent flier"; I either fix the problem myself or just put up with it; to me, trying to get help will only worsen my mental health. I left. I suffered out the physical ailments in silence. To me, emotional pain hurts more than physical pain.
