I was admitted thru the ER. The wait was long however the hospital has so many sick people it’s overhyped. The staff was so kind doing everything they can to help. Some people were so angry and fussing. When every bed is full and beds in the halls sick people everywhere I don’t think there’s much else they could do. No beds upstairs. I felt well taken care of. I did see very busy buses smiling and being as helpful as they can. Once I was admitted I had to wait for a bed (upstairs) so as soon as someone went home I went upstairs. My care from all the staff upstairs was 1 million percent wonderful I felt heard and assisted thank you to all. Please everyone just be understanding the whole staff is over worked. So many sick people. I pray for all the staff and patients

I find it ridiculous you have to wait 12-14 hours to get thru the ER. You guys need to figure this crap out!

I was in the hospital for a week. I broke my ankle. The staff, Nurses, Techs, Doctors and Surgeons were all so nice, they went above and beyond. Thank you all so much for the care you gave me and support.

Was in ER for 12 hours. Went on primary care physician advice due to very high BP and headache. Had several tests and bloodwork and staff said we needed to wait for consultation with dr with results. We never left the waiting area fir the 12 hour duration. They sent staff to do vitals on patients Aldo in waiting room with IV with Ned bags going and we all had IVs in our arms they started just in case needed. Very poor service lack of care was astonishing. Disappointed and will not use again.

Me and my wife had our 4 kids there over the years. The first 3 we had no issues The 4th came 6/13/23. We went had the kid. I left the room because i was told i had to get a new badge because the temporary color was out of date... i went to the front with my current name tag and armband on and they refused to give me a name tag. There was 3 women shaking their head all talking at the same time telling me I was not getting a new tag withiut a ID. I advised them that they just watched me walk out of the postpartum I stated who I was showing them my wristband and tag. They started raising their voice, so I did as well. They said they where just going to call security. I told them to call them. I ended up leaving because; them not knowing bring a bunch of gun happy security personnel to me after telling me i was not going to get back there to see my wife and kid who i had just stayed there 2 days with is not the best option. It most definitely would have been a worse outcome for them and I. I hate the way I was treated; like a intruder. The day before when I brought my 3 girls in I recieved the same treat in the postpartum hallway one of the nurses raised her voice at me very rudely from behind the nurses desk telling with other nurses chiming in there 2 cents, about me needing to display the temporary sticker. Well the sticker did not stick to my polyester shirt so i left it in the room. After these altercations, I left and went to administration desk and asked where the HR office was, the lady at the desk said you cant see them without a appointment. I already tried calling no way to contact them. So she immediately called security and he asked me to explain the situation. I said I wanted to speak to HR not security. He said the system they have works. But they should let me in being the biological father. To think I dealt with all of that. They need a better system than this. Give a solid badge to those allowed in there dont wait to fix this is or implement thumb print or eye scanner since st francis has issues with people stealing babies. Also re train your staff. It was not taking lightly being told from a bunch of strangers your not getting back there and threatening to call armed security

The 8 hr wait in the ER/Trama center was a dismal experience. However, the morning am crew was like nite and day. They got moms BP under control and placed her in an observation overtime room, which is clean and super professional staff. The ER staff really need added training and security should deal with the indigent issue (yelling, sleeping on floor, mental issues) because it is a jaded view of SF as a whole. At 8am when the new staff arrived, security got the indigent people in chairs, dressed and in line. I'm a sympathetic person, however, it was scarry and disheartening how bad the ER was. They also use zero effort to sanitize things (bp cuff and temp monitor use on everyone concurrently). On to the good part, the RN during the day shift started immediately monitoring my 91yo moms BP. This was the reason we came in. They got it under control and let her be part of the decision to have a cardiologist monitor her med needs. The staff on the observation bed wing are very professional and the room is super clean. My recommendation is avoid the ER late in the day or you'll get to experience long waits and a Jerry springer meets intervention type show. Get beyond that, you'll be good.

My Adult child is there with her sick child my grandchild, the staff are so loud on the hall and at the desk. My daughter just called crying her eyes out desperate for sleep, she has been up now for three days and nights. The respiratory team and doctors are doing their best for my grandson who is not responding to treatment as originally hoped for. I'm a nurse and I work the night shift and sometimes have to remind myself and other staff to remember patients and their families are trying to rest, so I get it. Please let them rest unless it's a necessary treatment or lab, go somewhere, break room etc to converse . Or use your inside voice.

Worst ER experience. Staff acted like they were inconvenienced when you asked a question. I came in by ambulance with severe stomach and back pain along with vomiting. Nurse checked vitals and then I waited an hour for a CT. I was wheeled out to waiting room and while I waited 6 hours in pain I saw several people come in and go and out of the 6 people that came the same time I did I was last to be seen. I understand some might be more serious but I know 2 people got taken back that were here for detox. I asked nurse at window how much longer and they asked my name and then said I don't know I can't say. St.Francis use to be so much better.
