I recently (Oct 6th) visited the hospital with what I thought was a bad case of Acid Reflux. I may mention I’m only 67 with no previous health issues. I was admitted immediately and attached to an ECG. after I described my symptoms to the Triage Nurse. I will be forever grateful for the care I received. While I was in emerg. for 7 hrs. I was closely monitored and had to wait for an available Ambulance to Ottawa’s Heart Institute. I did not have A.R. as I thought but was having a heart attack. I underwent a Stent procedure to my heart. This action likely saved my life. I will be forever grateful for the prompt, professional, kind and compassionate care I received at both hospitals.

My wife had chest pains, went to Barry’s Bay hospital Sept 5th 2019 ,waited almost 5 hours. Dr. Said it was a pinched nerve they took no xrays gave no pain pills just gave a prescription for massage and phiso . 3 days later pain unbearable took her to Pembroke hospital they found cancer in her right lung. The Barry’s Bay hospital is a bandaid center not a hospital. Nurse seem nice the Dr’s think there God but have a great lack of knowledge. We will never go to this watering hole again. Be aware patients Barry’s Bay is a small community every body knows most everybody and many horror stories about St. Francis hospital it’s worth the little drive to the Pembroke hospital where you get respect and kindness, care. St Francis hospital should become redundant as most of the people and I agree. Most all the good story’s here are fake.

Recently went to this hospital all the reviews o read on this place seem fake. I went today and never been so disrespected in my life. Now I have chronic pain and the refuse to find out why. I don’t take pills for pain when I do it’s a couple Tylenol. All I want is a diagnosis but they won’t see u unless there is something visibly wrong. Like bleeding from your ears or broken bone. There are other injuries than that. So if your not dead or dieing don’t go here. They will only make you want to hit them

All of my trips to SFMH emerge have been quite quick! The longest I have waited is about 1/2 an hour. The nurses take good care of you and make sure you’re comfortable until the doctor on call arrives. I have had some bad doctors while there, that don’t really care a whole lot, but the regular doctors at the hospital are always good.
