I have been fortunate to be cared for by the very best Specialists at SMH. My cancer is complex and incurable with other chronic diseases. I have had exceptional care. Hospital stays throughout the years. Very dedicated doctors and some nurses who go beyond-the-beyond at a very busy hospital. I personally want to thank and commend the following doctors who care for me. Dr. L. Hicks, Dr. Eric Tseng, Dr. Pavenski, Dr. Common and Dr. Grover in the past. The doctors of the Pain Management clinic are very empathetic & knowledgeable. The Ophthalmologist clinic that saved my eye-sight. I have developed glaucoma. As well as the Emergency department and Apheresis unit (Megan) are exceptional too. Blessed through a long decade to be in the best hands and with health professionals who listen and care. Nothing is an effort. (My only negative about the hospital is that many of the admin staff in the hospital do not answer phones, return calls. I have encountered a few a rude, inefficient admin staff who are often on personal calls, sometimes never acknowledge one which does not help with my anxiety. They should not be working at a hospital as they are the first person one encounters and need to make appointments through, reschedule or cancel.

Doctors act kind at the begining but when a person get a second opinion from to hospital in US . They act very hostile . People are entitled to second opinions anywhere in the world.

I’ve had terrible heel pain for years to the point where walking was uncomfortable. Dr. Halai identified the issue and set up the surgery. He explained exactly what needed to be done and suggested a new mesh procedure to reattach the achilles tendon once the heel was shaved down. It seemed that the procedure is hard to come by but he recommended that I have it. His assistant Kayleigh set up the operation date for a few months later. The operation went smoothly and he called me at home the next day to see how I was doing and to tell me that the operation was a success and I should feel significantly better once I recover.
I was told by others that the recovery time should be around 5 or 6 months. I was in a cast for 3 weeks, in and out of a boot for 3 weeks, and pain free after 3 months. The level of care, compassion, timeliness, and professionalism was extraordinary. I can’t recommend the hospital and their doctors enough. There is nothing I would change about my experience with Dr. Halai other than I wish I had seen him 10 years earlier. I am so grateful for his help.
I’d like to thank everyone at the hospital for all the work they did to make my experience go as smoothly as possible.
Many Thanks

SMH nursing staff is outstanding! One nurse who stands out is Daniella. She was committed and extended herself to help me while in a high-pressure environment. I have Tourette’s syndrome and CPTSD.I wish that I could meet Danielle again if only to say thank you.
Respectfully,

Sadly my numerous visits to see daniels was a waste of time and money said he wouldn’t do anything without an amputation waiver yet he gets paid by my insurance company saying I can go back to work terrific thanks for nothing and then I let the pain clinic try a nerve block another waste of time as now I have constant back pain again thx for nothing
