Receptionist from the fracture clinic is absolutely horrendous . She's very rude, unorganized, absolutely no people skills what's so ever. She clearly hates her job and takes it out on the patients that pay her wages.

I have been going to SMH Alliston for long time, this is the facility where everyone of staff tries to do their best with what they got and make it most comfortable for patients.

The triage, reception and nurse were amazing. Xray was rude and incompetent and the doctor was the absolute worst I have ever experienced! I went in with something in my foot from the lake, and I am diabetic. I was treated like an idiot by xray "ain't you got no one to dig that out for you at home?" No, I'm a single female living alone...they taped a paperclip to my foot forming a circle around where I said something was "so the doctor would know where to look" and exposed me to 4 x-rays "to find nothing" The doctor did not know what a splinter or sliver was so I had no way of explaining the object in my foot. He looked, got me to bend all sorts of ways so he could look (flashlights help too in dark hospital hallways) he kept going back to his boss to ask questions, coming back looking again, told me there was nothing there, it was just in my head. Told me to use Voltaren and polysporin and discharged me. Due to a number of pain med allergies he didn't want to give me anything, although the nurse gave me a shot of toradol which I've taken and it's helped. The dr didn't want to listen. He said if there was any sort of infection, it wouldn't show up for a few days, just in time for me to see my family dr but he didn't feel anything was wrong, despite the pain I was in and being unable to walk. I watched another dr treat a woman without insurance who shattered her wrist, like absolute crap and it made me nervous to be at this hospital. Yesterday, I had a sharp chunk of shell removed and a localized infection cleaned out of my foot by a foot specialist clinic and that dr reassured me none of it was in my head and I did in fact have something very wrong and next time I need to call them for urgent care and they'll fit me in asap. If left for a few more days it would have likely gone to a systemic infection spreading and needing much more involved care and possible amputation. I'm diabetic and this dr at Stevenson ignored a serious foot issue that could have had disastrous complications. Incompetent doesn't even begin to cover it. I am grateful I found a dr elsewhere who knew what they were doing and could save my foot. I'm still in shock from what happened at this hospital

I've been twice now with my baby and left both times after waiting hours and not being seen. Not sure where I'm supposed to take my sick child if my family dr won't see them while sick and waiting at the hospital for almost 4 hours seems excessive with a baby!

Went to the ER Feb 28 2023 for severe back pain due to a bad fall. I just moved to Alliston so my family doctor is back home. I had previous x rays done and told to do physio by my family doctor, which I did for 3 months and no success. This brings me to the ER because the pain is excruciating and I think maybe an MRI needs to be done to check nerve damage or soft tissue. I wait 3 hours in the waiting room which isn't awful for an ER, nurses and triage were great and smooth. Nice chat with an older lady the whole time who just had knee replacement. Anyway, I get to see a doctor, tall Indian man who is super dismissive as soon as he walks in. Doesn't assess me at all and tells me there's nothing he can do to help me and I should talk to my family doctor. I ask if I could maybe get an mri or ct since I had X-rays and they were inclusive. He tells me the hospital doesn't have an mri and that ct is for bones only and show nothing more than an X-ray. The nice lady I spoke to for hours told me she just had an mri done here so something isn't right, either the dr is lying or the lady is mistaken. Also, ct show much more than just bones to my limited knowledge, they show muscle and tissue as well. And this Dr didn't get within 5 ft of me so how does he know my condition? I ask if he could refer me to RVH who has an mri and he says absolutely not because he's an ER doctor who deals with emergencies. How does he know this isn't an emergency, he did not assess me at all. I am very upset with this medical experience as it was a waste of time and very unprofessional. I told him I just moved to town and didn't have a local family Dr yet, he said there's nothing he can do. What sort of physician is this, letting a patient with severe pain who does not yet have a local family doctor walk out and not be assessed because he feels it isn't an emergency. This is poor medical practice and I am looking into reporting this man for his neglect in his profession. If he thought I was looking to score some pain killers, think again because I don't think the first words out of my mouth would have been âI'm wondering if I could maybe get into an mri for severe back pain I've been having since a fallâ. Anyways, be weary around a tall Indian man and maybe ask for a more attentive physician.

I have been here twice first time throughout the day, staff was great, great hospitality. Night shift is a whole different ball game I understand it is the grave shift but be more caring for patients and they’re loved ones who are concerned.

I can only say we as in my famil have been treated amazing. From minor things to saving the luves of my father more han once and my brother.
90% of staff are amazing. They are under staffed, but what hospital isnt thank to government. Th building is old but at least we have a hospital in our town. It myst be good, I’ve chatted with people in emerg who have travelled from places like Bampton, Barrie….what does that tell you.
And yes there are a few times over the years it hasn’t been great, but I’m not afraid to contact my Dr to tell him.
Thank you to the many hard working staff from custodial, administrative, Drs and the many fantastic nurses.
I can say I couldn’t do thier jobs. I feel blessed to have our little hospital & staff to take care of my family. Thank you to all the caring, compassionate staff. ð»ðð
