There is nothing you could say to me to convince me that The Stollery is totally inefficiently run. I have been waiting for 7+ hours. That is beyond ridiculous! When you ask the nurses are rude! I even had one Mom come to me as she was leaving and say she felt bad that we were still there because she came 2 hours after me.

Racist, judgments ignorant rude person registered 2 sick children, who were a different race to me. Let’s just say I had a disgusting experience and so did the children. Didn’t catch her name but older brown longer bobbed hair. She made an assessment that we were less than her and possibly not Canadian. This visit gave me a lot of insight into what racial.minorities face. The fact that it is a children’s hospital who are meant to care for sick kids males this woman’s blatant judgement and prejudice more vile. I intend to complain. Doctors and nursed were great but nothing positive to say about the booking in process.

My Autistic son was sent home without DIAGNOSTIC imaging ( Ultrasound & C.T. scan, after being referred by another hospital’s Emergency, for suspected appendicitis.
After waiting several hours, we were told that no personnel were available to run the equipment, and that we should return tomorrow at 1:00 Pm…..Over 14 hours Later.
I Hope the Stollery administration and directors understand what sort of LAWSUITS will be forthcoming if anything happens to my son through their staffs Negligence /Medical Malpractice……

Worst experience ever! My son was very sick and the doctors wouldn’t take it serious and dismissed my concerns. They found a swollen kidney and duodenitis. They refused to investigate and said he could have been born that way. My 2 yr old stopped eating because he was so sick. They told me to leave him at grandmas house for a week and eventually he’ll eat. We are now finding out he might have a kidney problem , possibly diabetes and he’s got blood in his stool. I would never take him back there!

This place is a disaster, I took my child there because she was having dizzy spells and fainting. They began by placing her in the COVID area after they were told she has serious Asthma and the nurse told us that if we don’t like it we could leave,p she stated that they do not have to put up with our complaints and if we do not like it we could take it up with patient relations because she isn’t there to put up with our complaints. After hours of waiting we finally got into a room where a doctor looked at her and said its migranes and she will be fine. My child has no history of of even having a headache it is impossible for him to know this without tests. They gave me a wheel chair and told us to leave. I had to carry my child to bed and when they need to get up to go to the washroom they have to be carried. They knew all of this but after repetedly requesting a second opinion the charge nurse told us ” well I guess it’s just too bad for her now isn’t it”. I called patient relations to file a complaint they stated with COVID we should be giving the staff some slack and their anger is only out of stress and we shouldn’t take it personally. The medical staff in Alberta has been given way too much leanency and their poor quality of care in this “hospital” should not go unpunished. I strongly suggest that you do not take your children to this terrible hospital as they only care about themselves and not the cake of children.

Was at the Stollery ER on August 16, 2022. Despite their posted wait times of 2 hours or less we were there for almost 5 hours and were NOT seen. When I asked about the discrepancy I was told the wait times were not correct. I would think that an organization this large would invest in better programs so patients do not show up at sites where they won't be seen in a timely manner. Not impressed!

6 hour wait in emergency for a premature infant who is low electrolytes. The doctors are not compassionate very ignorant nurses. Four nurses and an ultrasound and they still can't figure out how to put an IV in my daughter's arm , one of the nurses even stated that sometimes she just Wings it and hopes she hits the vein , like that's not something you want to tell concerned parents. Not impressed not recommended. The pediatrician who was working the night shift said it would take 30 minutes to get test back it took 3 hours before anybody even came and they still couldn't figure out how to put that in her arm. I would trust the surgeons but the emergency is a joke. If you feel like staying at the hospital for a couple days by all means I would rather drive across the city than to get stuck at this hospital again.

Dr Bruce Wright kicked my family member out after he had a stroke, the CT scan on his head wasn't looked at properly and the radiologist comes in and calls us an hour after this doctor kicked us out telling us “COME BACK NOW”. Disgusting bedside manners, convinced he was a drugged out teenager and told me I was wrong when I said he had a seizure when I SAW HIM HAVE IT. I hope he has learned his lesson, he put my family through hell that day and could have cost a life.
