I am going to share an experience a family member of mine had & due to the severity of UNETHICAL demeanor by 2 nurses by the name of Sandra & Katrina I feel that the public should be aware. My niece had to be taken to the hospital by her father due to having complications from contracting covid. Immediately upon arriving she was treated with disgust by these nurses due to being unvaccinated. First, the nurses lied & told both that the father was not allowed to stay with her due to hospital policy. Both my niece & her father didn’t know the rules as per the AHS website, it clearly states that you are allowed to have 1 support person with you as long it’s from different household. My niece does not live her parents. They said she’s an adult so too bad. The father was refused admittance to stay with his daughter. Once he left, both nurses acted in a manner that ridiculed my niece with their sarcastic comments & inappropriate actions. (I will not get into detail for the time being as the family has already submitted a complaint) My niece then decided to call her mother from the hospital to let her know what was going on as she felt alone & mistreated where the mother ended up calling the hospital right away. She spoke to whomever answered the phone & let her know what her daughter had called to tell her & demanded that this stop & that she would be contacting their superiors. A short time later my niece contacted her mother to let her know that all of a sudden a different nurse by the name of Ashley (very sweet) came to take care of her instead. The next day the mother contacted their superior Jarrett, to let him know what had transpired. Jarrett not only confirmed that the nurses actions are unacceptable but that my niece should have been permitted her 1 support person & that these nurses should have known that!! I am honestly appalled that some nurses would think it would be okay to behave this way, regardless of a persons vaccination status and have to say shame on these particular nurses! Jarrett did tell the mother that he would be addressing this with the staff & the mother will be following up to see what course of action was taken so that this does not happen to any other person, regardless of vaccination status, religion, race, sex etc.

Terrible services I had dr rudkin tell me I was drug seeking for attention when I have gullbladder issues and telling me that the dr from drumheller was a liar as well as the ultrasound tech . Personally I don’t think anyone should go here . They keep putting patients off and telling the patients nothing is wrong with them but give them pain meds .

On a scale of 1-10, our hospital is a solid 10. ALL staff, from Drs, through nursing, lab, X-ray and physiology to housekeeping, kitchen and maintenance are outstanding. I’ve spent time in the big 3 in Calgary , none of which come remotely close to the standards set by our hospital.

A year ago I would have given all 5’s, until I was brought in with a major medical condition last year. I came in with information from a clinic that called me to say “levels” were elevated that I needed to get to a hospital in 15 minutes or less or call an ambulance. They reacted quickly when I told them what the clinic said, was being treated and taken care of – they even transported me to Calgary for tests they couldn’t provide there and said that I may stay and go for emergency surgery or they may bring me back if surgery isn’t required. They send my family home with all my belongings as I would be “either in Calgary or back here admitted for 5-7 days”. Get to Calgary and worst-case scenario is not the case, thank goodness, so back to Strathmore via ambulance. It’s now very late at night and I get back and assume I will be admitted for 5-7 days as that’s what I was told, so they could observe my condition. Doctor comes in, scratches his head and says he doesn’t get why I have this condition so he’s gonna send me home and can I leave right away? I had to ask for time so I could wake my family up, get them to drive from Calgary to S’more and get me and also ask for something for pain management. He was like, oh well how fast can they be here? Was given a pain Rx that couldn’t be filled until the morning, nothing was open and sent home when my “levels” were still dangerously high! Needless to say, I had to go to Calgary and see a specialist at Foothills who was appalled that I wasn’t keep for 5 days, as it’s stabdard practice for this condition and that not knowing why I have it is even MORE reason to keep me there and monitor my “levels”. I am still recovering from this, and could have been better off if this doctor followed standard practice and listened to his patient! Have been advised that if something serious comes up, always come to a hospital in Calgary, use Strathmore for “emergencies” like stitches from multiple doctors I’ve now seen!

Excellent service, care and doctors. Missing a few services so you may have to go to Calgary or Drumheller. I was sent to Calgary for an Ultrasound and Drumheller for CAT/MRI scan. Then had emergency surgery in Drumheller.. I wish the Alberta Government would put some money into upgrading this facility instead of wasting it in smaller towns (like Bassano) etc. This center really needs those services and an upgrade.

Useless lazy nurses. Too busy on their phones and gossiping to even care to check on patients for hours. No one sitting in waiting room but wait is hours. Better be able to look after yourself or drive to Calgary

My Dad was in there for 3 months prior to his passing. All of the staff were not only pleasant, but went above and beyond to make his stay as comfortable as possible. The nurses also were always very nice in keeping the family fully informed

HA this is the worst hospital I have ever been to in my life. Went there the waiting room was empty with my 1 year old son. The triage nurse did not even bother to look at what I brought him there for. After 5 hours no doctor. I left and came back the next day and got a doctor and my son was severely dehydrated and hooked up to an Iv machine. His bum was so raw it was bleeeing and his diahreah was out of control. I was sent home with an IV in my infants arm because they don't even have a LAB at the hospital to test his bowel movement . The doctor told me he could call childrens and get him admitted. When I called in to say yes I want that, the doctor refused to talk to me and the girl on the phone hung up on me!

If Dr N.Choo is on I suggest leaving and going to another facility. Horrible experience. She didn't come within 12 ft of my husband. Hard to assess a patient when you don't come near them.

They did not take me seriously at all... they basically told me nothing was wrong, when I knew for a fact it was serious... finally got them to ship me to Calgary for an MRI, and lo and behold it was an actual life threatening situation... they treat you like you've done something wrong, for real, they push guilt on you and don't believe you when you are in absolute agony.. I've heard them talking in the next room s
