I went into the mental health unit a couple of years ago. The programs were very basic (run by a social worker and not a proper psychologist), but the food was good and many of the nurses were good. The biggest problem is that like many Healthscope hospitals, they let public patients in to fill beds, paid for at a lower rate by the state government. A lot of these patients are, quite simply, ill-mannered and bullying. Many of the nurses didn't want to add to their workload by intervening. These patients would sit in a courtyard smoking and gossiping about patients. They didn't want to leave because staying at the hospital helped defray their living expenses. It wasn't a therapeutic environment. I would recommend trying any of the Ramsay hospitals as they don't take on public due to the high levels of demand. Northside Wentworthville would be the highest rated by patients.

This is a Healthscope hospital & is fairly well maintained with a good birthing unit.
