Doctor’s know nothing about Mental Health and don’t want to renew a prescription because you don’t have a family doctor!! Make you wait 6 hours before they will see you and when they do see you they give you a lecture and then threatens to not to give it to you. The Dr. has no clue about you, You explain and he is a butt plug about it. Do not come to this hospital if you have any mental problems because they know nothing about helping you.

We had taken our 4 yr old, who had been coughing very badly to ER. was having trouble breathing, very listless – we were v worried. after 2 hr wait – ER “Physician” said that no wheezing, only upper respiratory infection. coughing will be uncomfortable, keep us up the whole night and all. we could look it up on google if we wanted to!! first time ever that i was refered to Google by a “physician”. ingoring that, we asked how long will this last – week to 10 days was the reply. 4 yr old coughing the whole day and night for 7 to 10 days and that was ok with the doc!! when we insisted that he do something more to make the child more comfortable – says we do not want to recognize the reality. as concerned parents we were not in touch with reality! his attitude and behaviour was very rude as well as the nurse who attended. its the closest hospital to our home, but we sure wish they hire qualified medical doctors and not ones who refer to google instead of a senior doc or specialist.

I have now lost two young friends at this hospital because of their inability to treat aneurysms. They should not be on the Ambulance list when it comes to real emergencies. St. Michaels Hospital is the best for ensuring patients live. Dr.. Rosso is a useless doctor who made a young girl with an aneurysm wait until the next day for surgey. I guess I don’t have to say what happened. Her funeral is Saturday. WHAT A WASTE OF A PERSON WHO WOULD HAVE MADE A BETTER DOCTOR THAN ANYONE WE HAVE IN CANADA. IF SHE HAND’T COME TO TORONTO FOR THE WEEKEND SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN CHICAGO AND MOST DEFINITELY SURVIVED.

Was apprehended under the Mental Health Act by a female police officer (it was not a legal arrest -- I was not a threat to myself or anyone else). Imprisoned for a week - no trial, nothing. Would not let me go outside for fresh air or to feel a ray of sun on my face. Out the window, I saw patients from other wards outside. The doctor who saw me abruptly pulled me off my medications with tapering. I went through unassisted drug withdrawal off a very addictive medication. Nurses are unpleasant and lack empathy. No other hospital I've been to had a mandated 'sleep time.' It was probably around 9-10pm when I was on my iPad and they insisted I turn it in. I said I didn't want to. The nurse said fine, she would call security. 5 TALL security men showed up to my shared room. You mean they didn't have regular staff who can handle a simple situation? Over a petite who wouldn't hurt a fly and simply wanted to use her iPad before bed? I wanted to file a complaint but they implied I was leaving and if I wanted to complain I would have to stay another day! Mental hospital from hell.

Absolutely horrible experience. I had given birth to my daughter at this hospital. During birth, the nurse was supposed to check and empty my bladder after getting the epidural (because you basically can't feel that urge if you need to go). This didn't happen and my bladder was so full, it was pushing against my organs causing me pain. I had mentioned I was feeling pressure to the student nurse, but nothing was done. Only after the actual nurse showed up, she realized what had happened and emptied my bladder. Almost a full bucket of urine! Also yelling at the student nurse. I was shocked and immediately felt relieved. Secondly, my daughter was checked by two separate doctors and none advised that my daughter had a heart murmur, which later lead to a life threatening condition. This could have been a very serious. Very disappointing. You wonder how these doctors are actually allowed to practice... putting people's lives at risk. I'll never go back to the hospital again.

THIS PLACE IS FULL OF STUPID 1ST YEAR MEDICAL STUDENTS THAT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE FIELD THEY ARE PRACTICING IN, THEY ALL ARE UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF SPECIALIZED PHYSICIANS THAT LOOK OVER THEM BUT NOT CLOSE ENOUGH AND GIVE THEM WAY TOO MUCH FREE REIGN.. DON'T GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TORTURED OR DIE FROM THEIR INCOMPETENCE.
