This hospital sucks, my wife had a miscarriage while I was at work and she was treated by an old white doctor who just left her in a chair sitting in a pool of her blood and bits of our baby. She’s currently dealing with panic attacks and is in the ER right now and it’s the same geriatric doctor seeing her, he just said something along the lines of “it’s all in your head, and I you’ll need to see a councillor, if that doesn’t work I’ll give you medication then”. What a total crock, I’ve never heard of anyone needing to see a councillor before getting anxiety medication, Nova Scotia needs to shape up.

I have been to the emergency at the Valley Regional Hospital several times.
I have always been treated with compassion and caring.
Yes, I have to wait a long time to be treated. These Doctors, nurses, and lab technicians are great at their jobs. They are definitely overworked.
If you want satisfaction, than you have to wait. You are not the only one here.
Most of the staff work well beyond their shift.
I, for one applaud you for your dedication.

Operation of a spiral fracture on my femur (thigh) well done. Thanks for that!
The postoperative treatment an the ward was no good though. Especially insufficient pain treatment. I‘m feeling sorry for every patient with acute pain after injury laying on this ward. When i was screeming of pain I was told to be quiet and they shut the door.

I went home with no letter of release, x-Rays nor hardly any Information about the procedure that was done which made it hard to communication with my Insurance back in Europe.

I am fed up with the services at the Valley Regional. I arrived early for my appointment. There was not one person there to advise to wear a mask, there was no one on the desk for information, or any security at all. I waited half an hour to go through registration leaving me 15 minutes late for my mammogram. When I arrived for my appointment, I was advised by the staff person that because I was late I would have to wait for another person who was waiting for a procedure that would take an hour (this person was scheduled for 9:00 and the time was 8:45). Even after I explained to her that I was on time for my appointment, she negated my validity by stating that she couldn't give me any approximate length of time I would have to wait. And that "it is up to you if you want to wait or not"! I have always supported the hospital and its staff. I am fed up with the crappy service, and the crappy attitudes of the staff at the Valley Regional. RESPECT GOES BOTH WAYS!!!!!!!

God help anyone who has lung cancer. You will have to run a gauntlet of smokers all around the front door I complain to security, and they just laughed at me. One of the nurses told me when she came in the other day the security guard was standing out there smoking with them, so this is a problem for you. Good luck.

VRH is like a war zone, is it possible for NS Health care facilities to get any worse, yes probably. No matter how sick you are you stay in emergency's make shift spots, Covid people are barfing and hacking all around you. Your only move is when you need death threatening surgery. Terrible just terrible!!

The nurses in day surgery were excellent. The bathroom was not!! The toilet was really low and had a raised seat on it with the handle bars. Anyone who was more than a little plus size would not have been able to fit on it. It lowered when I sat on it and pinched/cut my leg every time I used it. It has been a few days since I was there and my leg is still very sore and irratting when I sit down. There are better raised seats than that that can be used. Please get one for all the bathrooms. and put adjustable handle bars on them. It is not nice to have to stand up to do the paperwork. Especially after surgery!!!
