Gave me the wrong medications twice, refused to apologize and when I looked up the medication that the nurse game me she shrugged and said it was her fault

The intake worker, female, at x-ray in VJH, was very rude and disrespectful. She sent the xray requisition to a walk-in clinic, stating, non-urgent. She is not a doctor and has no authority to diagnosis patients. This was September 26, 2022 at 8 am. We realize the staff have been stretched to the limit at times, however if you don’t want to deal with people, find another job. This intake/staff worker should be given a course in people skills.

i presented with biliary colic 3 times. no ultrasound. later, after a req from my family md, ultrasound revealed 1.6cm gall stone root cause.

consider for a moment what it means for an emergency department to not know how to diagnose a gall stone. then, consider going somewhere else for your health concerns where your symptoms will be taken seriously, and diagnosed accurately.

Have always been treated with respect at this hospital.

Very unprofessional at times. Do not feel safe going here alone during covid. All the more chance for the doctors and nurses to be bullies. Treat people how you want to be treated. One day you will have to answer to the big man.

Truth be told I've been to this hospital two times, and both times, I never received care for anything. I waited over 8+ hours in triage and only was ever able to speak to a nurse, I never even saw a doctor inside the hospital let alone had one come and look at any charts etc. Our healthcare is so abysmal I would rather just sit in pain and go see a private clinic than try and even receive support from our so called healthcare system. It's collapsed from within. I would recommend avoiding this hospital at ALL costs if you are dealing with more minor issues such as infections from dental procedures or sprains/fractures. You will not be given care and you will be treated like a nuisance. It's really sad to see the state of our system in 2024 in British Columbia. I feel as there is no hope.

I live in Kelowna.. retired from nursing there. However there was a need for urgent surgery. I was most impressed with Vernon Jubilee experience and my surgeon Dr. Ainsley. This is a smaller hospital to Kelowna; however it was felt by me as the patient with many pluses… environment seemed to create a healthier and more reassuring environment. Although all large facilities may have all the bells and whistles…. The size of an organization reflects the professionals within that health care culture. I am very grateful for my care received there on a surgical basis. Thank you. To the administration…. Keep it small…

9 times out of 10 they are judgemental, not really interested in treating patients in the ER, more interested in getting rid of people, they misdiagnosis or don't diagnose at all just oh its a virus, then find out it's more serious, from family dr. They just send people home, I think the hospital found the worst ER doctors they can find and hired them to do a bad job on purpose, the worst one is black hair dr, if you see him, drive to kelowna, get far away from him, he's rude and cruel and judgemental and he isn't interested in treating or diagnosing, treats you like you are intruding on him, I haven't been there in a long time as I hate it there.

I personally have never had a problem with the hospital staff and how I have been treated and handled. But I have heard stories from many others on how they were treated which shocked me because I have had in hospital staysx2 both lasting around 7-10 days. Always made sure I was on the right track and did all necessary assessments and tests. I have major anxiety and depressive disorder. Treated kindly and with respect. Sorry for the people that did not get this treatment.
