Excellent care today by Dr. Magic and accompanying nurse in the Plastic unit. Whole procedure explained as it was happening. Very much appreciate the caring considerate team.

Incompetent staff, students nurses with no compassion. I would rather die homeless on a park bench than in the care of these people. The oncology floor is a nightmare . After a few serious mistakes that caused mt Fathers passings the Hospital removed priveleges from a physician the only physician who was honest about his mistake to us. The Hospital has made excuses and lied for the accidents that occured involving their nursing staff. Patient relations will act like the care but in reality complaining to them is just what they want so they can report back to The Hospital and try to cover their story before complaints are reached to them. Patient Obundmans has no idea how many videos ,photo evidence and statements I have from my coming their way regarding my Fathers last week in their care. Avoid thus place at all cost and God forbid you need to stay lo ger than a few weeks they would rather you die than take up space getting better in their care.

I have had the displeasure of being a patient at the London Regional Cancer Center. I have not met a more ignorant group of people in any medical center anywhere. You will be treated with no respect whatsoever, you will be just a number. You will not be properly informed about anything. The girls behind the clinic windows are ignorant and useless and screw up most anything they try and do. The clinic nurses are rude and will provide you very little information. When you talk to or call the LRCC anyone you talk to always says….I don’t know. The Hemotology head doctor is rude, arrogant and ignorant and should not have his job.

They are suppose to be looking after people suffering from cancer and they could’t care a less. They just want to know what time they can leave and when they get paid.

As I said, the worst medical center I have been to ever.

Note: The nurses in the chemo room are really good and caring but their supporting collegues are terrible.

Tuesday I had surgery to remove a tumor from my colon. I could not have had better care from the surgeons to the cleaning staff. I was treated with respect and kindness! They were wonderful! As a result, I am home with my family! What could have been a frightening experience was not!!! Thank you so much!

I had the misfortune of going to Victoria Hospital emergency room several years ago when I developed a fast spreading, itchy rash on half my neck. I was on immunosuppressants at the time and suspected shingles as it was a known complication to treatment, the symptoms were consistent and continued to worsen despite antihistamines. After 2 days, I was unable to contact my specialist (who worked in the same building) and couldn't get in with my GP and was advised to go to emergency at LHSC. I informed the nurses and doctors as to my preexisting condition, clinically isolated syndrome (a form of MS), and the treatment I was on, as well as the name of my neurologist and that they work in the same hospital. Not only was I berated by the triage staff, I was also lectured by Dr Dreyer and his colleague (who didn't provide his name) about the dangers of buying medication online for a self diagnosed condition that :doesn't exist". In the 10 min these 2 medical "professionals" took to accuse me of being a paranoid hypochondriac who self medicates with illegal drugs for a disease that I "made up", they could have contacted my specialist, called the resident neuro on call, pulled my patient file, or even did a quick Google search on the medication I was taking and my diagnosis. Any of these would have confirmed that I was not lying like Dr Dreyer claimed I was. His reasoning? A 30 year old can't get shingles. I left with a prescription for antihistamines. 2 days later I was able to see my GP who diagnosed severe shingles. Antivirals were ineffective due to the time delay in treatment. I went on to develop cellulitis and was I severe pain to the point of tears and body tremors, to make matters worse my GPs office was closed for Christmas holidays. I had no choice but to return to this same hospitals emergency department. The triage staff once again claimed that clinically isolated didn't exist and the medication I was prescribed wasn't legal in Canada. I was told that since I had no fever it wasn't an infection and that a 30 year old can't get shingles and my GP must be wrong . They individually taped small gauze squares directly into the infected shingles sores. I was denied pain treatment but was helpfully reminded that the hospital wasn't a rehab facility. After 6 hours I went outside to take my sweater off since I was was reprimanded for doing so in the waiting room. When I came back in I had to re-register (as they believed I left to smoke meth) and was told if I left my chair again security would escort me from the hospital. I spent the next 6 hours crying in pain with a security guard standing watch over me. I was eventually called into the quiet room where a very apologetic Dr Jones explained how several non-urgent patients brought the situation to his attention. Thankfully he was knowledgeable about my condition and medication. He gave me medicine for the pain and infection. He is the only reason I didn't call a lawyer. As the infection started to clear I developed a second infection, I had contracted another type of bacterial infection from the unhygienic state of the waiting room. The 12 hours I was there I was surrounded by other patients vomiting in the trash bin and on the floor where there was also spots of blood and other fluids. I went through 5 kind of antibiotics including 2 rounds of septra DS before the infection cleared. Today I have lasting itchiness, pain and recurring blisters. Not to mention scars. Very visible scars. Dr Dreyer was negligent and misdiagnosed me simply on his lack of knowledge and unwillingness to consider that I (a "young" women working a labour job) might know something about about medicine he didn't. When I requested my files I noticed that they didn't record the information of my medication or the name of my neurologist, as well as the time that I first registered. The treatment from the staff made a bad situation traumatic. I now refuse referrals to LHSC and if I need emergency care, I drive the 45min to St Thomas. If I never go to this ER again, it'll be too soon.
