Truly a pleasure to have surgery at the Welland Hospital. Excellent caring staff, Very clean facility for a building over 65 yrs of age.

The staff at Welland General Hospital are awesome. Whether I have gone to see a Dr. for a clinical appointment or been admitted for surgery, from the moment I have walked thru the door until the moment I left everyone was very friendly, kind and helpful.

We’ve encountered several very serious episodes over the last few years and would never have made it without the excellent care of everyone in this hospital.

Nurses are very rude in the ER. Most people who go there are ill or with a loved one who is ill. ...a little compassion would go a long way, especially sine they've probably been waiting HOURS to be seen. Canada's once enviable health care system has been reduced to a joke.

Rather than over bidding for construction work, it seems as though they use the lower bids for meals, cleanliness and more nurses to care for their patients. My wife had a double pneumonia, septecemia, bacteremia and MRSA, as far as I'm concerned, she should have been tagged as one one of the first ones to be seen. She sat in the waiting room for over 2 hours until she coded!! Now, they were rushing and I couldn't even be near her… What happened there??! Please listen to your patients, they know their own bodies!!!!

My elderly father in law has been admitted to this hospital twice in the last 2 months. The lack of care provided is simply elder abuse. The nurses are rude and ignorant. The first time he was released there was inadequate after care in place. The PSW came 1 time in 3 days (he lives alone and could barely walk a few steps). Our family has been trying to sort things out with Patient Relations to no avail. I believe Patient Relations is just there to sweep matters under the carpet. I would suggest if you or a family member is subjected to this abuse, you should contact the Patient Ombudsman's Office or the College of Nurses Ontario and report individual misconduct. The last time when he went to emergency, we threatened to call the police for the failure to provide food and water!

I had left hip replacement surgery Sept. 4, 2019. Dr. John Song performed the operation. My experience during my stay at the Welland County Hospital was first rate. The results of the surgery have been amazing. After about 10 months it does not feel that I ever had a problem. I returned to work 6 weeks after the operation and have not missed a day since that time.

Staff were rude, kicked me out ASAP before I should've been released because they had too many patients in the hall. Was promised and reassured many times before going into surgery that the incision would be in a different place and so much smaller than what's now there. Woke up with a completely different scar than what I was told of have. Went back for post op and the surgeon didn't even look at the incisions just pressed around the area and told me I was fine. Also told me that it would heal entirely differently than what they are. Not healing properly went to looked at and was once again told it was fine. Went to a different doctor and finally got properly taken care of.
