Very disappointed My daughter has been in hospital for 4 days and no one has cleaned the bath including the toilet. She is in a shared room with a person who has bowel issues! The new ‘room service' is appalling- how are sick people expected to remember to order their meals every few hours!!!

I had a robotic radical prostatectomy at the Wesley. My Urologist was first class and all went well. Unfortunately after my release complications set in. I went to the emergency centre and was seen immediately. My Urologist attended and I was readmitted for urgent treatment. Without going through all the fine details I was treated in ICU and in urology. I was admitted and discharged a number of times as necessitated by the recovery process. This was a difficult and stressful time. I have nothing but praise for the excellent nursing care I received at all stages of treatment. Likewise my doctors in Urology and ICU . I cannot speak highly enough of all involved.

It's shocking that in this day and age in a private hospital, we are in a shared room on the oncology ward. The Wesley Hospital should be ashamed.

I understand this is a negative review so some may be sceptical, however my father walked into this hospital for day surgery and never walked again. He spent several months in ICU and is left severely disabled due to what I understand to be a result of the reckless acts of the surgeon and anesthetist who were in charge of his care. I believe that these people cant even tell the truth when they have doctors insurance to help people that have been maimed by their carelessness; utterly heartless. It is my belief that the doctors in this hospital destroy lives with little recourse.

My elderly mother is currently in the Wesley. So far the care she has received in ward has been TERRIBLE… The nurses have not given medication prescribed by the doctor and just left it on the bedside table twice now.. and they “forgot” to turn off the “nil by mouth” tag for an 82 year old who went nearly 18 hours without food or water… THIS is pathetic !!!!! What ever happened to “do no harm”, the Wesley’s motto should be, ” I just work here”…… Absolutely disgusted !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hospital bathroom was old and tired. Very haphazard schedule for cleaning and often missed a day. Lots of agency staff employed here who are also old and tired in their attitude towards patients. They’re only working for the money. Overheard at changeover one agency nurse refer to me as a “princess” because I’d asked for nursing assistance with toileting as I had broken both wrists and an elbow and was waiting to be operated on. Food delivery staff leave trays of food with a patient and refuse to assist with getting a straw to drink fluids. “Not my job” I heard everyday. Thank goodness I had a great surgeon.

Cleaning of toilets is disgusting no soap floors not mopped shared toilets not cleaned adequately def open for infection. Elderly patients treated as tho they are idiots unless there is family with them to monitor care. For a private hospital conditions are deplorable and is going downhill. Dishes from room service can sit for 5 hours without being collected and there can be ways of up to 2 hours when ordering food and not all patients are able to fend for themselves. Also why do we have to pay again at er when 2 visits are required because first visit was inadequate.

I was recently admitted to the Wesley Hospital and cannot fault the treatment or experience I received. From the ER to Ward 2E the nurses were wonderful. I was extremely anxious having had a heart attack in my 40’s and they cared for me and treated me wonderfully. My Doctors professor Scalia and Dr Hayman and team were fantastic. They explained everything a number of times which was needed and appreciated given my diagnosis and I was not worried about asking any questions I had. The other people I came across for the numerous blood tests scans and the like were great and the staff in theatre for my angiogram put my mind at ease during what was a terrifying procedure. Food was also good, there was so much to choose from and it was great every time and my room was cleaned daily

Why are the bathrooms never cleaned?
Why is the soap dispenser above the basin – opposite wall from the shower?
No sick person feels safe walking across the bathroom on a wet floor with soapy wet feet to get more soap. Many people don’t use flannels, but even a flannel needs more than one soap application.
This is extremely dangerous. If you feel I’m exaggerating, ask some of the elderly patients.
