If you don’t mind being demeaned, humiliated, and treated like a dog, go to emergency. Maybe the treatment will be appropriate to your needs.

Mould is the only good thing at this band-aid station in this small town. Clearly, your life is in peril, go to Courtney. These home guard self-serving lowly Quacks and lazy self-serving staff clearly cover up everything to hide the job-driven useless paycheque hounds are the only thing that is driven around here. A couple of hours are well with running for your life to another hospital (This Band-aid station) Run for your life. Dr. Feyi is not even rated on RATEMD’S this is as bad as it gets, a lowly quack should be charged for everything he does. Get out of this hick town before you lose your life, The Mayor is a loser and accepts any lowlife quack, out of desperate, mind you VIHA is laid back useless self-serving health system. Great for a job with low expectation, you’re gonna die in this hole, don’t expect VIHA to save you. Try it Dr. Kenny Feyi RateMD’s and see if you can find this horrid quackery master. every other Dr. can be found, in the world.

ER Dept. Unfortunately this group needs training, I watched them treat young colored female with racial profiling, abrupt, rude, careless Drs and Nurses. Of course not all.. but it takes only one rotten apple to destroy faith in medical systems. I’m crying for someone, and I will file a complaint!! People are afraid to seek medical care that they have a right to.

This is the worst hospital on the Island. Do not go there if you want to be treated like minority, a drug addict or an alcoholic. The ER doctor was extremely racist towards Indigenous people and people of color. Upon entering my nephew was given a drug test because he looked Indigenous according to the staff and especially the ER doctor, even though he is black. The ER Doctor also gave him a swab and said we see a lot of people like you coming in here and maybe this painful swab will keep you from coming back. When we took him to the family doctor the doctor was flabbergasted that the Port Alberni hospital gave him a drug test and not test his kidneys since it says in his records he only has one kidney. The family doctor has to re-send my nephew for a series of blood test at the clinic again because the doctor at the ER did not do her job properly. Plus his tests came back saying that he did not have drugs in his system. Not only is the doctor at the Port Alberni hospital a racist bigot, but she is also working at the wrong hospital considering it is on Indigenous land and predominantly all Indigenous people living in this town. So disgraceful I will never ever go to this hospital even if my life depends on it and if you are not white I would go to a different hospital so you do not get treated poorly. I will also be making a formal complaint to her boss as well as rate my MD. This is unacceptable behavior especially from a doctor that should be professional and educated on Indigenous people, as well as other cultures.

THIS HOSPITAL IS INVOLVED WITH TORTURING PEOPLE. THEY DENIED ME CARE TO PROVE TO THE CROWN THAT I AM BEING TORTURED. I HAD EVIDENCE ON MY PHONE AND THEY BROKE MY PHONE. THEY LOCK PEOPLE UP UNDER THE MENTAL HEALTH ACT AGAINST THERE WILL JUST TO TORTURE PEOPLE FOR NO REASON.

Short staffed but they have 2 rude greeters..... Still forcing stupid and unhealthy mask rules. Cardiology is hit or miss for being open. Security seems to be there to harass the family of those waiting for ER. Loud intrusive TV playing inappropriate and offensive content while families wait and worry. Lack of communication by staff.

I understand long wait times and the point of triaging, but almost two hours in a bed with no instruction or help. Was expected to do my specific tests myself. Same nurse only checked me into triage and then at the end of the five hours to ask why i was still here. Was waiting and waiting to do tests that were promised but we're never done. Had to ask for information from people not attending to me and keeping them from their patients. Young patients have a right to be looked at whether you think their condition is real or not. Pain is different to each and every person.
