They failed to initially diagnose my Mother’s stroke and then lied to me about the severity. The rehab therapist was one of the most disgusting human beings I have ever encountered, having basically written my mother off as a waste of time and providing no services. The nursing staff ignored orders to get my mother up and out of bed, leading to bed sores. When my mother complained of feeling unwell and developed a worsening cough, they failed to test for covid, resulting in my whole family, including my 83 year old father contracting covid. Seriously, if driving somewhere else is an option, do it…but not to Brampton Civic, its the same at best and maybe worse.

My experience at Etobicoke General was an emergency situation. Dr Quinn was excellent and knew how to repair my hip asap. The only confusion was with my blood thinner which took a while to reverse. The physio team was excellent and got me up and walking soon after.

They should hire doctors and nurses that actually care about their job and the people they serve.

This hospitals process when being screened is horrible. Who are they to decide what my elderly mother needs when I take her to all her medical appointments since she does not understand English or know how to get around the hospital. She doesn’t even understand their check in process. I am getting tired of them trying to tell me that they will accompany her and they have someone who speaks her language. I keep explaining that she cannot answer the questions that may be asked of her because she doesn’t remember so I need to be present since I handle all her medical things. It should not matter weather one is vaxxed or not vaxxed to get to accompany someone to an appt as an out patient. I find this process very discriminatory since the province has dropped all mandates. Another hospital that she goes to does not do this. They understand and allow her to be accompanied. Your staff at the front should be trained properly to be more understanding.

Everything about this hospital was horrible. The nurses overall we rude, didn’t care, did not provide quality care. We never knew anything. No one came to let us know what was going on. When we rang for the nurse it would take forever for her to show up. Several times I had to search the whole floor for my husband just to get a nurse.

Long story short. We ended up going to Ajax/Pickering Hospital and WOW what a difference. Like night and day. The nurses went out of their way. Doctors came one after another and updated us on everything. Constantly taking blood and making sure my husband was comfortable. Oh and I didn’t mention that they sent my husband home when they probably should not have. 11/2 weeks later we had to go to Ajax/Pickering and they are correcting what the drs. at Etobicoke general messed up.

This hospital was disgusting. The ICU experience was that the doctors and nurses discriminate against the elderly. My father did not get the care he needed. The staff were rude and cold. I saw such incompetence as nurses leaving their stations for hours at a time especially at night. IV medications getting unplugged and no one being around to fix the problem. Not being proactive in care. My dad walked in and never made it out. Do not go to this hospital especially with Aged parents

Once upon a time this hospital was a 4-5 star hospital. Now it's more like a 0-1 star hospital.. Admission nurses are super friendly, however it's when you get into the actual emergency area they don't care. They're rude and clearly practice negligence and malpractice. We went in today July 25th around 3:15-3:20am because my daughter was complaining of a sore throat. Around 4:30-4:40am we saw a doctor who touched around her throat and said 'hmmmmm there seems to be an infection' looked into her throat and said 'her tonsils are enlarged' told us to go back to the waiting room. Around 4:50am-5:00am we got a DIRTY room with old viles on the ground, wrappers, tissues and a BROKEN chair. Fine whatever ignored it because my child needed treatment. Around 5:15-5:30am my daughter recieved IV & got blood tests. Around 7-8am we got prescribed medications for.. For NOTHING, because the doctor decided to just leave? So we got discharged and prescribed two medications without a diagnosis. Prior to getting a print out of the blood tests which I didn't ask for, I asked for a diagnosis one of the male nurses said 'aren't we missing a few tests?' Which then the female nurse said 'I don't know, just discharge her'. At the end of the day the ER nurses and doctors could care less unless your physically dying, even then they probably wouldn't give two sh**s. Save your time and go somewhere else, whatever you do don't go here, they enjoy giving patients negligence and enjoy malpractice, it's all about the money at this point. Believe me, if they checked the video footage of today at the triage desk, they'll see EXACTLY what was said by the male nurse to the female nurse regarding the tests. But of course, the hospital will stand by their negligence to cover their own as*** from legal actions.

Pediatric emergency nurses are rude, especially when it comes down to forcing a 9 year old to do a covid swab well aware of her chronic nose bleeds. The male nurse on Sunday March 26th going into Monday March 27th was visious and ended up giving my child a really badly bruised nose from the unnecessary swab and arm from the failed IV. Unfortunately this hospital isn't getting anywhere, they should either hire people who love their jobs or close the hospital completely. We were in the waiting room for about 2hrs until we were seen. Spent a total of almost 6hrs in the emergency department and 90% of the time the nurses and doctors were chit chatting and laughing. Before anyone becomes hostel I'm sure there is video proof on the security cameras of how my daughter who is 9 was mistreated!! I'm sure it's a daily thing at this hospital, just nobody is brave to speak up. I will say this hospital is fairly clean, bathrooms are clean, hallways etc.

Filthy. Care is substandard. Very understaffed--the good nurses and psw 's are overworked, the bad ones hide in the nurses station until they hear someone is angry. Management does whatever they can to discharge patients whether they are well or not.

Palliative care department is terrifying. Based on an incoherent conversation with my elderly mother, doctors put her on some sort of end-of-life protocol and left her in a corner to die. Family not consulted, doctors unreachable, disgusting
