This hospital was disgusting. The ICU experience was that the doctors and nurses discriminate against the elderly. My father did not get the care he needed. The staff were rude and cold. I saw such incompetence as nurses leaving their stations for hours at a time especially at night. IV medications getting unplugged and no one being around to fix the problem. Not being proactive in care. My dad walked in and never made it out. Do not go to this hospital especially with Aged parents

They failed to initially diagnose my Mother’s stroke and then lied to me about the severity. The rehab therapist was one of the most disgusting human beings I have ever encountered, having basically written my mother off as a waste of time and providing no services. The nursing staff ignored orders to get my mother up and out of bed, leading to bed sores. When my mother complained of feeling unwell and developed a worsening cough, they failed to test for covid, resulting in my whole family, including my 83 year old father contracting covid. Seriously, if driving somewhere else is an option, do it…but not to Brampton Civic, its the same at best and maybe worse.

My experience at Etobicoke General was an emergency situation. Dr Quinn was excellent and knew how to repair my hip asap. The only confusion was with my blood thinner which took a while to reverse. The physio team was excellent and got me up and walking soon after.

They should hire doctors and nurses that actually care about their job and the people they serve.

This hospitals process when being screened is horrible. Who are they to decide what my elderly mother needs when I take her to all her medical appointments since she does not understand English or know how to get around the hospital. She doesn’t even understand their check in process. I am getting tired of them trying to tell me that they will accompany her and they have someone who speaks her language. I keep explaining that she cannot answer the questions that may be asked of her because she doesn’t remember so I need to be present since I handle all her medical things. It should not matter weather one is vaxxed or not vaxxed to get to accompany someone to an appt as an out patient. I find this process very discriminatory since the province has dropped all mandates. Another hospital that she goes to does not do this. They understand and allow her to be accompanied. Your staff at the front should be trained properly to be more understanding.

Everything about this hospital was horrible. The nurses overall we rude, didn’t care, did not provide quality care. We never knew anything. No one came to let us know what was going on. When we rang for the nurse it would take forever for her to show up. Several times I had to search the whole floor for my husband just to get a nurse.
Long story short. We ended up going to Ajax/Pickering Hospital and WOW what a difference. Like night and day. The nurses went out of their way. Doctors came one after another and updated us on everything. Constantly taking blood and making sure my husband was comfortable. Oh and I didn’t mention that they sent my husband home when they probably should not have. 11/2 weeks later we had to go to Ajax/Pickering and they are correcting what the drs. at Etobicoke general messed up.
