    Worst experience ever.
Waited for hours in emergency. Like 7 hours. People were leaving in horrible pain to go elsewhere. When your name finally gets called it’s such a relief only to wait hours in another room. Presumably for stats reasons. People were groaning screaming and all sorts. Staff just walked past.
Then if you were lucky enough to get in they gave you drugs and told you your bed was needed , so bye.
I would bet some people died, some by suicide. I was given so many drugs I nearly died. No care. If you die well that’s one less they have to deal with.
No emergency in private hospital so no choice.

I admitted my wife to wollongong pub hosp on 25 /4/22 with Jaundice per liver infection, she walked in comfortably then waited in emergency tben admitted, from there it was down hill, she was aced in C4 East, the Unit .anager was verbally abusive to her for 3 seeks until i caught her, two male nurses in c4 east were so abusive tbey said while i wasnt present that she should be put down because of the care she needed, then requested to unit manager to transfer her to icu rather than care for her, i spent the majority of day and night for a .onth caring for her as her carer, as soon as i turned my back they made medical and medicinal errors, told her she was a fat slob the dr messed up her medications by putting her back on Caliose when her organs started to recover, giving her severe diarrhea which tne staff blamed her for, she had tubes in both arms, so couldnt feed herself, she wemt into recovery 3 times and the messed up, i kept getting her into recovery while the dr told her without me present she was going to die, i got her into recovery again by feeding and taking care of her, then i went home to get some sleep as she was sitting up doing video chat with frnds and family after being placed in B4East( apparently secretly the end of life ward) the next morning she was almost comatose, she td me a big nurse with glasses gave her 2 big really painful needles in each thigh last night, tne dr said she would die this night, i was stunned, the dr had her moved into a dingy dark windowless room, at 8-pm approx a big nurse with glasses dressed in a darker uniform walked brazenly in saying something for pain, i said, shes not co.plaining about pain, she said it was dr order, she stabbed those needles in her soft thigh tissue so hard Steph sat up and screamed and said “Again”!! Her daughter said to the nurse “What was in those”, rey was for pain, within a minute steph could no longer speak, was having circulation issues with her ha ds and feet, she whispered “help me” ” love you”, i need cleaning”, i told a nurse who then brought tbe bug nurse in to help, i had to tell them to be more gentle, they were wiping her like she was a sick cow, they asked me to leave the room, i said, “no, im her partner and carer, then steph cried out, let out a moan, i walmed to her side and she was trying to breath with a look of terror on her face, i said ” turn her back and give her oxygen”, the big nurse said, no oxygen? Ill get a dr for time of death”, at that point she was still alive and fighting the abuse.
She then gave up in torment and died,.
They had given her twl sets of high dose morphine on 2 nights, they illegally Euthanised her.
    That is Murder.
A line of staff incl 2 doctors and 3 unit managers and nurses are responsible. Im going after their certifications and registrations.
And if hospital ⁸admin is knowingly involved in these practises them also.

My sister was discharged early, without proper treatment, just so they could utilise a bed, she hadn’t had a bowl movement in over seven days, not only was she in pain from a bladder operation, she was subjected to non professional nurses rolling there eyes and ridiculous responses to vacate her bed. No medication was provided. My opinion is a totally dissatisfied patent engaged by unprofessional nursing staff in an under prepared hospital. Please think twice if you have to use this facility

What horrendous 30hrs in ED for my father which has very painful bone cancer. The nursing staff spent more time discussing a staff member’s newly tattooed ear brows than caring for my dad. As a RN I felt I had to stay with my dad to care for him because no one else was going too.
Met a very hostile nurse unit manger asking me what complaints I had and could she help me! Obviously she too also can not recognize it’s the patients which need to be cared for. Seriously Wollongong residents kept driving and come up to Sutherland or St George.

If there’s anyone to blame for any issues with this hospital, it’s the government. The staff do the absolute best that they can with the funding that they are given. Staff have always been caring and professional, unfortunately they deal with a lot of rude patients who make their job more difficult than it needs to be.

People need to complain about this hospital. I have been given pain killers over and over and told to wait for a scan .. 7 hours later still waiting. Nothing calm or quiet here with the staff being the loudest, banging doors, shouting when “speaking” to patients with one patient told loudly that he probably has an STI in front of everyone. Everyone comes here in pain, worried, scared only to get treated with no compassion n told “it's a public holiday” .. knowing it's a public holiday put more staff on maybe?! It's a public hospital and you are there to serve .. you are being paid to serve. We are paying you. DO YOUR JOB!

Six hour wait in A&E with very rude and arrogant triage nurse. Staff more interested in the various drunk people than people who were genuinely unwell. One staff member was spending time on her mobile phone rather than attend to her job admitting people. The doctor was fantastic once I finally saw him. We were from out of town and shocked by how filthy and by the low the quality of the staff. For a hospital in such a large centre it is shameful.

The amount of horrible experiences I have had at this hospital would take me days to write out. I have received some of the worst care and rudeness at this hospital than almost anywhere else at all, not just including medical places, which says a lot. Worst thing they have done was sending me home with a packet of amoxicillin as I was going into septic shock. No joke, they sent me home with the most basic antibiotics. I walked right into my usual doctors office and he had to call the hospital HIMSELF to ensure I actually got treated. The neglect and refusal to treat patients without having to be told to by another medical professional is disgusting.

Worst hospital experience I've ever had. I was taken there by ambulance after a car accident 2 days ago. The nurse was extremely rude and treated me like a junkie because I asked for something for the pain. The doctor saw me for a total of 60 seconds, proclaimed it was just a sprain and sent me on my way. I went to Shell Harbour hospital this morning and have found out I have 2 broken bones in my arm, I need emergency surgery, and that I may end up permanently disabled because it took so long to get (competent) help. Taking these guys to court.

Worst experience ever. Eight years ago I was assaulted by the staff. I was 28 at the time which is well beyond the age of being a legal adult and being able to make my own decisions regarding my healthcare. For every invasive procedure, consent was not gained by me. It was gained by my mother who had no legal right to consent for me. In the space of 5 days I was assaulted 3 times. Twice by the staff by not gaining my consent for invasive procedures and once by my mother who consented to me having an invasive procedure. The doctor could clearly see that I was awake and coherent and refused to acknowledge that I needed to consent, but he did allowed my mother to consent for me. The reason being both the doctor and my mother came to the decision that because I was in pain that I didn't know what was happening. If you enjoy being assaulted by the staff who also allow your parents to assault you then Wollongong Hospital is the place for you. Avoid this hospital at all costs
