What a fantastic Doctor!! He makes you feel very comfortable and explains everything in down to earth language so that you understand exactly what is going to happen before & after surgery. He includes the family in discussions to make sure they are aware of the outcome of surgery. He called our home a few times after surgery to see how my husband was doing and to make sure that everything was going well....which is not done very often in this day & age. He is one fantastic Doctor and I would highly recommend him!!Thanks Dr. Kavanagh for all your excellent care!

Very friendly and knowledgable, made me feel at ease throughout the procedure. However the staff in his office did not provide enough information prior to the procedure (what time to be there, what to eat or drink, etc). a written pamphlet at the pre op would be ideal.

VERY PLEASANT DOCTOR. EXPLAINS EVERYTHING IN SIMPLE EASY TO UNDERSTAND LANGUAGE. MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AT HIS OFFICE & DURING MY HOSPITAL PROCEDURE. FOLLOW UP IS EXCELLENT.

My brother was diagnosed with a large bladder cancer in 2009. Dr Kavanagh was very caring and helpful in the diagnosis and explained the disease very clearly to us. He described the surgery very well and spent a great deal of time drawing pictures to help explain. He made sure that we knew exactly the details of the surgery and even asked if we wanted a second opinion. The surgery to remove and rebuild his bladder went very well. I am thankful to Dr Kavanagh for everything he did to help us.

If referred to Dr. Kavanagh, run – and don’t look back. Ego the size of TBRHSC. Told me I had cancer, removed my kidney – and I didn’t have cancer. And his office staff are cruel and heartless. And terrible at providing information, and don’t seem to care about that. Dr. Kavanagh seems nice enough, but he is brutal.

My mother had surgery done by Dr.Kavanagh and he was very caring and sincere and took the time to explain and answer questions. The surgery and recovery went well. Happy that he has chosen to practice in Thunder Bay!

Very pleasant, but clearly on the clock. I had an referral that took about 6 weeks(not bad), but it seems a lot longer when you are struggling with health issues. He didn’t examine me at all, listened to half my story before jumping to his diagnosis, which many of the main typical symptoms he described, I have not had. After a 10 min appointment I had waited weeks for, he was walking out the door as I was trying to ask questions about my concerns. Comes across pleasant, but overly rushed.
