📋Overview
Bilateral Acoustic Neurofibromatosis is a legacy term historically used to describe the presence of benign tumors called vestibular schwannomas (also known as acoustic neuromas) on both vestibulocochlear nerves. This condition is now recognized as a hallmark feature of Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), a genetic disorder characterized by the development of multiple nervous system tumors, especially bilateral vestibular schwannomas.
