📋Overview

Breath-Holding Spells are involuntary physiological responses often observed in young children, usually occurring when a child experiences sudden frustration, anger, or a minor physical injury. Although these episodes can be distressing for caregivers to witness, they are recognized as a benign childhood condition rather than a symptom of an underlying disease.

Clinical observations categorize these events into two primary types based on the child's physical appearance during the episode. Cyanotic spells typically occur after a child becomes upset or cries, while pallid spells are often triggered by a sudden shock or painful stimulus, which may cause the child to turn pale.
