📋Overview
Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) characterized by inflammation that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus, most commonly the terminal ileum and colon. It is a distinct condition from ulcerative colitis, another form of IBD. The inflammation in Crohn's disease is typically patchy and can involve all layers of the bowel wall, leading to complications such as strictures and fistulas.
