๐Overview
Extragonadal germ cell tumors (EGGCTs) are rare tumors that arise from germ cells located outside the gonads (testes or ovaries). These tumors share histological features with gonadal germ cell tumors but occur in midline locations such as the mediastinum, retroperitoneum, pineal gland, or sacrococcygeal region. EGGCTs are classified under germ cell tumors but differ by their primary site of origin.
