📋Overview
Fifth disease is a common childhood viral illness caused by parvovirus B19. It is also known as erythema infectiosum, a legacy term. The condition is characterized by a distinctive red rash on the face and sometimes on the body. It primarily affects children but can occur in adults. The infection is usually mild and self-limited.
