📋Overview
Gallstones, clinically referred to as cholelithiasis, are solid particles that develop when components of bile—such as cholesterol or bilirubin—crystallize. These deposits are stored in the gallbladder, a small organ located beneath the liver. They can range in size from a grain of sand to a golf ball. Common symptoms include sudden and rapidly intensifying pain in the upper right portion of the abdomen.
