Keratoconus
๐Overview
This disorder involves the gradual thinning of the clear, front surface of the eye. As the tissue weakens, the normal round curvature of the cornea may protrude outward, which can significantly impact how light enters the eye and reaches the retina.
The resulting change in corneal shape often leads to blurred or distorted vision. While the condition primarily affects the structural integrity and clarity of the cornea, it typically progresses over time and can interfere with daily visual tasks.
