๐Overview
Mastitis is a clinical condition characterized by inflammation within the breast tissue, which may result in localized pain, swelling, warmth, and redness. While it is most commonly observed in women who are lactating, the condition can also occur in women who are not breastfeeding and, in rare instances, in men.
The inflammation often stems from a blocked milk duct or bacteria entering the breast through a break in the skin. In addition to localized breast changes, individuals may experience systemic symptoms such as fever and chills, which can impact daily activities and nursing routines.
