Secondary Pulmonary Hypertension
📋Overview
Secondary pulmonary hypertension is a form of pulmonary hypertension caused by an underlying medical condition affecting the lungs, heart, or other systems. It is distinguished from primary pulmonary hypertension (now called idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension) by its identifiable cause. The modern preferred term is pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease, lung diseases, chronic thromboembolic disease, or other systemic disorders.
