J. Craig Box

Dr. Box has been practicing in Gordon County since November 1999. His professional passion is providing understanding and compassionate care to cancer patients. Dr. Box is a board-certified general surgeon. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens and the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed an internship and residency at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta. During this period, he gained extensive experience in performing and teaching advanced laparoscopic surgery regionally and international. Dr. Box is the only fellowship-trained cancer surgeon in Northwest Georgia. He completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Box specializes in the treatment of Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, Rectal Cancer, Melanoma, as well as surgical treatment for Thyroid & Parathyroid disorders. He also does laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) & hiatal hernia’s.
