Liver Injury

Contraindications

Pregnancy
The effects of Betaseron on human pregnancy have not been extensively studied in adequate or well-controlled clinical trials. In animal studies, high doses of interferon beta-1b were associated with an increased risk of pregnancy loss (miscarriage). Because of these findings, Betaseron is typically only recommended during pregnancy if the potential benefit to the mother justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
