- Sublingual Tablets: These are placed under the tongue to dissolve completely and should not be chewed, sucked, or swallowed.
Missed Dose
If a patch is not changed at the scheduled time, it should be applied as soon as it is remembered. If it is almost time for the next scheduled application, the missed dose should be skipped, and the regular schedule should be resumed. Multiple patches should never be applied at the same time. For breakthrough pain medications, the dose is taken only as needed for pain as directed by a healthcare provider.
