Eye Surgery Complications

Patients undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform their surgeon if they are taking or have previously taken Jalyn. The medication can cause a complication known as Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS), which may require the surgeon to modify their technique.

Blood Donation

Individuals taking Jalyn should not donate blood during treatment or for at least six months after the last dose. This waiting period ensures the medication is not passed to a pregnant woman through a blood transfusion.

Other Precautions

• Sulfa Allergy: Caution is advised for patients with a history of sulfonamide (sulfa) allergy, as they may also react to the tamsulosin in Jalyn.

Dutasteride is present in the semen of men taking Jalyn. If a man's sexual partner is pregnant or could become pregnant, he should use a condom to prevent her exposure to the medication. Breastfeeding
