📋Overview

Pembrolizumab is a type of immunotherapy known as a monoclonal antibody. It is designed to help the immune system recognize and fight cancer cells within the body.

The medication works by blocking a protein called programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1), which normally prevents the immune system from attacking healthy cells. By inhibiting this protein, pembrolizumab allows immune cells to better detect and eliminate cancer cells.
