Body Fluid Discoloration

Diarrhea and Colitis
Treatment with antibacterial agents like rifabutin can alter the normal flora of the colon, leading to the overgrowth of Clostridioides difficile. This can result in Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD), which ranges in severity from mild diarrhea to life-threatening inflammation of the colon.
How to Take Rifabutin
Rifabutin is available as a capsule to be taken by mouth. It is generally taken once a day. If you experience stomach upset while taking this medication, your doctor may suggest splitting the daily amount into two smaller doses taken twice a day.
