Although he knows his stuff, he completely discredited by own observations of my symptoms. He ended up being wrong about his diagnosis and the correct one fell more in line with what symptoms I said I was having. Doctors can make mistakes but he came off more cocky than anything. Last time I was there, he was completely confused as to who I was (thought I was a new referral). He sent in one of his buddies who decided to spend at least 5 mins infront of me reading my chart in silence. AWKWARD! This was all after waiting for about 45 mins in the room after saying they were ready for me.

I was referred to Pantano as a 2nd opintion. What a waste of time! I have a medical background and did my research. I was sent for an ECG before the consult. He did not even look at it even after I prompted him. He gave me his diagnosis even though my symptoms did not match. I gave him several reasons why I disagreed with him. He was cocky and arrogant and basically said that if I didn’t want to listen to him then I was wasting his time. After putting my foot down and not accepting his diagnosis, he agreed to do some more tests. Well now the results are in and he was completely wrong with his diagnosis and I was right! I would not recommend him to anyone. Not in a million years. Hate to say it, you can get more accurate information from the internet!

My case was difficult where the WPW was affecting my heart. Even though I am retired from nursing (he is not aware of this), he explained everything in detailed and assured my husband of what needed to be handled during the proceedures. The first ablation he was not able to complete all of the termination of the WPW. A second treatment was booked (1 year later)and I have only had minor episodes since March of 2010, no more hours of a 198 heart rate. Alfredo is very caring and truly has my best interest at heart. He is very busy and does run late, however he is worth the wait. Do not judge him by his office staff or the fellowship students, as they should learn to review a chart before calling or coming into a room. They mixed up my case 6 times and had me recovering from other proceedures and surgeries. Dr. Pantano has given me back my life at the age of 46. Sometimes thank you is just not enough, other people must be made aware of the skill and talent.

I have had chronic heart problems since my early teens. I have been hospitalized numerous times and undergone any surgeries, procedures, etc. to help remedy the problem. Up until I met Dr. Pantano I received excellent care. Since seeing Dr. Pantano, I have been completely ignored and dropped. In fact, he showed up at the END of my ablation and informed his resident that he shouldn’t have started prior to him being there but then left again and the resident finished. He’s left me waiting for hours (literally up to three hours) in his office and his visits are brief, uninformative and don’t assist whatsoever. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. If you are referred, ask for another doctor.

Very caring, knowledgeable doctor. Have had several ablation sessions with Alfredo. He explained, in detail, the procedure prior to surgery. Follow-up was excellent. Wish we could clone him.

Caring, hard working and knowledgeable and has fantastic staff of nurses to back him up. Thanks to Lois - you're my hero. Very personable and good at explaining your condition. I think he is probably one of the best in his field.

This doctor knew nothing of my husband's condition. He had not even bothered to look at his file to see what the other doctor, in his clinic, had written. He answered very few of our questions and in fact had not found my husband's name on the waiting list for a procedure when he had supposedly been on the list for 9 months. We had been told we would have to wait up to a year still after 9 months, his name was not on the list.

I was seeing Dr. Pantano for a few years, I found him to be very easy to be around, answered all my questions, would draw diagrams and speak in everyday english (even though he knew I was a nurse and would understand the medical terminology)he is also extremely personable. Due to his extremely busy practice I was moved to one of his coleagues for further treatment, but would recommend Dr. Pantano for anyone with a heart condition... he knows his stuff.

I seen him initially, 5 or 6 years ago. Then he was very helpful, thouroughly explained problems and procedures. In the past two years his treatment of patients has dimished tremedously. He sent me for an MRI in spring 2008 and in January his office called me to to say I had surgery in two weeks. I never had a consult with him to discuss the MRI results, procedures, ect--nothing! What kind of physician schedules surgerys without first having a consult with the patient! My trust in him as a compentent physician has decreased tremedously to the point where I would definitely get second opinions on anything he said. In addition the the last time I saw him (in 2007? prior to the MRI) I waited in the waiting room for over 2 hours (it is usually 1 hour) and when I seen him he did not even review my chart before I walked in. The visit was literally 2 minutes. What was the point of that--extra billings!! I should bill him for wasting my time.
