I cant thank Dr Metcalfe enough for his amazing care and compassion. I was very nervous with my new cancer diagnosis and he was so helpful, informative and caring during the pre surgery stages. The surgery went extremely smooth as did the recovery. Thank so very much.

The best doctor I have ever dealt with. He took such great care of me and was very supportive with my family members as well. He cured my cancer and will always be there for me. I feel so lucky to be his patient.

I had a sudden intense pain from large kidney stones and was sent to Rockyview from Banff and them removed By Dr. Metcalfe and his surgical team. They were very kind, pleasant and obviously very skilled at their craft as I was operated on late friday and completely recovered by Tuesday from the laser-basket stent procedure. Thank you So Much!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Metcalfe for the past 6 years. I started seeing his Uncle before Charles took over. I couldn’t be happier with his care however, his new receptionist is very cold and detached. She’s not very helpful when I call in and she seems to be very annoyed when I call in. Too bad the other one left.

Amazing doctor. He was compassionate, patient and really took the time to explain my results and the procedure I needed. He went above and beyond for me, and my GP said he’s had the best outcomes for Prostate surgeries. Couldn’t be happier.

A BIG THANK YOU! Dr C Metcalfe was kind punctual and informative in explaining my opperation. From his office staff to Dr C phoning my family with an update a fine young man. He even tolerated my bad jokes. If ever need to see another Urologist he would be my first call. Regards Don

Dr. Metcalfe somehow does it all- talented/skilled surgeon, but on top of that nicest doctor ive ever met- he is quick but very efficient. Saved me from my cancer and cares for me so much during my follow up.

Dr Metcalfe is an extremely knowledgable surgeon and will get the job done in the end... however... I recently had Kidney stone surgery and had a major concern of mine. I told the nurses and the anesthesiologist about it and they told me to please relay this information to the doctor. I spoke to the doctor that the drug Tramadol didnt work last time I was in the hospital when a large kidney stone broke off and they had to give me two shots of hydromorphone for my pain. Before I was able to finish my story by saying that Tramadol didnt work and if I could just get something a little stronger (didn't care what it was). He immediately cut me off and I quote, "No, I'm not giving you that" and walked out of the room. All because he heard the word hydromorphone, which wasn't even what I was asking because I wasn't finished telling my story/concern. After the surgery I had a permanent stent in me for a month and was in excruciating pain everytime I peed. Lots of blood. The doctor didn't prescribe antibiotics afterwards which ended up giving me an infection ontop of it all. Had to go to a separate clinic for antibiotics which cleared up the infection. After the month passed, I had to do a kidney stone surgery part 2. I personally let the doctor know about my unbearable stent pain and how much it hurt and that I was really concerned about the temporary stent pain as well. He dismissed it. Once part 2 surgery was finished, i was left with the temporary stent in me which means not only the same pain as before, but also a string pulling up and down through your urethra AND having to pull the 10-15in (25-38cm) stent out through your urethra after a few days. The pain was unbelievably excruciating. The doctor didn't prescribe me ANY pain medication this time even thought he knew I was going to be in a much more painful situation than before. Personally, I want to be able to take 1-2 painkillers a day but because of this ordeal, I was forced to take about 12 extra tylenols and advils per day. If you ever have any medication/medical concerns or issues, please do not go through this doctor as he will not listen to you and you will most likely end up back at a hospital to speak to an actual doctor who will listen, look at your charts, and give you the proper attention to your medical needs. Thank you Dr Metcalfe for making me scream and cry in excruciating pain from the stents and infection, all due to not listening to my concerns. Next time if someone has a concern, listen to a patient fully before interrupting them. You are incredibly knowledgable but don't let your ego judge your work ethic.
