I have not actually seen Dr. Buccholz - but not for lack of trying! His office claimed he was "taking new patients." Yet, my GP tried - twice - to refer me to him. On both occasions, he replied to my GP with both a DIAGNOSIS and a TREATMENT RECOMMENDATION having never seen me, met me, talked to me - nothing! Presumably, he went on NetCare, and just read what his "buddies down the hall" wrote about me, and "screened" me out as not wanting to see me. That's a fine conclusion to reach AFTER you actually meet the patient, but how can you possibly draw that conclusion without ever seeing the patient?? This would NEVER happen in physical medicine. This is very clearly an inappropriate use of the NetCare system as physicians are not allowed to access NetCare on someone unless they are already their patient.

2nd visit & was kicked out the door, and told just have your GP refill your medication. If this is what Psychiatrist’s are doing today,I can certainly see why there’s such a big problem with mental health in Alberta. Oh well better luck with the next Psychiatrist. Or maybe just commit suicide,I’m sure that wouldn’t bother Buchholz.

Dr. Bucholz was the best Psychiatrist I have ever known. And for a man with a brain injury, that is not a small accolade.

I don’t have a lot of previous experience with seeing mental health professionals so I can’t compare experiences, but for this experience, Dr. Buchholz was amazing. He understood my issues where no one else had. He is easy to talk to, has good advice and is always there to help. He’s pulled me out of a spiral that would have ended very very badly and has given me a way to see the path to a future when I was convinced there was no future for me. I recognize myself in the mirror more each day and that is thanks to this man!

The Doc has saved my life, I depend upon his safe space he has created for me to confess all the shame and sin to torment a mind as i thought possible, a light in the darkness, a light house , if it wasn’t for him I’d probably be in a box, I Love this man.

Dr Bucholz is by far the best psychiatrist I have seen. I had severe depression, anxiety, did not want to live and with his guidance, caring, compassionate disposition he has helped me to be able to live a full and happy life. And yes I have done all the work needed to get to where I am today. He doesn’t sugar coat anything, is willing to listen to my ideas. He is truly a wonderful human being.
