Dr Mirazo handled my elective c section and did a wonderful job. She delivered my daughter quickly and safely and I felt I could ask her anything. Her calm demeanour was appreciated and after the bandages came off the nurses assigned to me all commented on how beautiful her stitch job was and I was lucky to have her. If I was having more children I would exclusively see her.

I had her as an OB and never felt like she cared much or was invested in my care plan for my high-risk pregnancy; she was kind of hands-off. She always answered my questions in detail, which was the main plus. At one point in my pregnancy, I ended up being hospitalized on a day that I was supposed to come and see her for an appointment; I was already at the hospital where I was to see her and called in hopes that she’d pop over and see me and she never did. At the height of my pregnancy-related troubles, her silence and inaction were deafening. She was always kind and pleasant, and I'm sure she'd be a great Doc for a non-high-risk pregnancy. I wish I had listened to my gut and responded to her not being invested in my pregnancy by looking for another OB who would have been. Life is nuanced, so maybe there are reasonable explanations for her general handling of my care and her not coming to see me in the hospital. Still, as I reflect on this pregnancy and the baby I lost at 21 weeks, I can't help but think of ways that things could have been handled differently. No matter what OB they end up with, I hope that someone reads this and is encouraged to remember to advocate for themselves and see different OBs if necessary.

I had to undergo a procedure due to a boil and went to emergency. Dr Ruiz Mirazo was the doctor on duty who did the procedure. She was very knowledgeable friendly and reassuring. She also followed up and called for checkup post the procedure and made sure I was doing well. I would definitely want a doctor like her if I end up needing one in future.

After hemorrhaging for 97 days and ending up in the emergency for a transfusion, I was referred to Dr. Mirazo. Her initial phone consult was the longest I've ever spoken to a doctor on the phone (40 minutes) and not one did I feel rushed or dismissed. She weighed all the options for me and never disregarded my pain, symptoms or choices. She did everything she could to help, given all surgeries were restricted because of covid. Her care from day one was incredible. I'm not sure I understand the negative reviews, as they just don't correlate with the level of care I received from her.

I couldn’t have been happier with the care I received from Dr Mirazo. Every visit and my surgery was a breath of fresh air compared to what I have experienced before. She is incredibly talented, thorough and kind. Her staff were excellent too.

I had the pleasure of Dr Mirazo for recent surgery, She is such a sweet lady, and the best Gyny Dr I have ever known, if ever I need a Gynecolagist in the future , I hope I am am lucky enough to get her, she is simply amazing, highly Recomend .

First I would like to say that I did have some difficulty with phone calls to the office and I had a bit of a wait for my appointment. I did not lower the rating for this doctor in response to this since it was obvious that they are all very busy people, and how can they accurately schedule other peoples problems? Also I feel that the wait was worthwhile! Dr. Mirazo was thoughtful, considerate and gentle.
During my first appointment she made time for all of my concerns which probably made her late for her next appointment! Sorry! She was concerned with my comfort, physically, mentally and emotionally. My hysterectomy was an urgent case and she fit me in within a month. The hold up was OR time. She was sensitive to my concerns about an abdominal incision and managed a much smaller one than anticipated. Bikinis are still an option! She came to see me that evening after my surgery since she was going to be out of town the next day. Even though she had to wait for me to return from a stroll and it was nearly 8pm she took her time and did not make me feel rushed. I am recovering nicely and am looking forward to my follow up appointment.
Despite a whirlwind of doctoring over 2 months from my first appointment with my GP to my surgery I can’t say enough good about all of the medical staff I encountered. Thank-you to all the doctors, nurses, technicians, office staff (and anyone I have missed) and especially Dr. Mirazo. She made a very scary time for me manageable.

Dr.Mirazo was the delivery doctor on call when I had my stillborn daughter. If there is any situation where bedside manner shines through, it is in that situation. Dr.Mirazo was amazing. It was a pretty terrible day for our family, but Dr.Mirazo was patient, calm, kind, empathetic and respectful. She went above and beyond for our family in the aftermath and are so happy we had her as our “guide” through such a terrible time.

I truly believe this woman saved my life. I had a baby on December 23, 2015. I knew something was wrong with me near the end of my pregnancy and the GP’s at the OB clinic just ignored my high blood pressure and didn’t really do much to help. When I had the baby, my BP went down and even through I swelled up like a balloon, they sent me home. A few days later I went to the ER with trouble breathing and chest pain. They all thought the pain was my milk coming in, but when my BP hit 198/128 they called OB. Dr. Mirazo was the Dr on call. She came down right away, made sure I had the appropriate tests done and re admitted me back onto the labour and delivery unit to ensure I was close to my baby who was in the NICU. She was so warm, caring and truly did what was best for me. She made sure I was on the meds I needed to prevent seizure and stroke and kept me alive and safe! Thanks Dr. Mirazo!

I ended up in emerg and needed surgery on a Barthilon cyst and Dr. Mirazo was on call and completed the procedure. She was amazing!!! She made me feel at ease and even came to see me after my surgery to make sure I was okay and to go over after care. Calgary could use more Dr.’s like her. If you ever happy to become a patient of yours consider yourself very lucky!
