I went to see Dr. Jain for issues with a bleb. My baby was six months old at the time, and they insisted that I bring him to my appt. After waiting 1h10m for her, she looked at it quickly and removed it, but didn't offer me any further advice or follow up. She didn't examine my baby at all. One month later, I found the tongue-tie myself on my baby and brought him in to her (another 1hr+ wait - while I sat listening as she discussed the flu shot with the travel nurse for 15 min and then another 10 min about Christmas cards with her nurse). For a doctor who is touted to be all about tongue-ties, I felt that we were completely dismissed at our appts. A quick examination in that first visit would have found it quickly. I tried for a third appointment with her to assess this recurring bleb. Long wait again-she said that she could remove it - oh, but she didn't have time today. She has incredible knowledge but seems to busy to provide consistent care. Will go to the Alex Centre for BF consult

I was a patient of this Dr. for 10 years but only saw her personally 5 times. She has a revolving door of locums. I was treated as if Dr. Jain and her staff were doing me a big favour by even seeing me. Her no fragrance rule really sucked when there were 30 or so of us crammed in her waiting room for hours on end. We were all pretty ripe by the end of things. The front end staff were like pit bulls at the gate. I was always at the walkin clinic with my kids for earaches and such because we couldn’t ever get in for 2 weeks. I was uncomfortble with all the rules and politics and was discouraged from discussing any of these concerns because they were all so “busy and important”. I think doctors like this wouldn’t get patients if there werent’ such a shortage. My family and I will take our chances at the walk-in clinics.

I am surprised and dissappointed to read some of the negative views expressed by other patients of Dr. Jain’s. For the past 10 years I have found her to be kind, compassionate, widely knowledgable and very punctual. I appreciate that the first appointment is an opportunity to meet her and to learn how the clinic operates. I found the clinic rules helpful in guiding my expectations for the visits and hers. If more family physicians were to operate this way perhaps there would be less physician burn-out due to over-work. Perhaps then we would have more family doctors in practice. The comments about the no scents rule are extremely selfish as perfumes are a common allergy affecting many people, likely many patients of the clinic. My experiences during pregnancy and breastfeeding were exceptionally good.

I agree with the all the negatives mentioned here. She was not my doc but I was in meeting with her when I went with a friend of mine who was her patient to her appointment – as an outside observer I found her abrupt, inconsiderate, dismissive and generally unhelpful.

I, too, was a patient of Dr. Jain’s through three pregnancies as well as a few years previous to them. When I became pregnant with my third child and having already had two C-sections, I was concerned about having a third one. She assured me on SEVERAL occasions during my pregnancy that I could deliver naturally (although my doubt never left me). Upon arriving at the hospital in labour, the doctor on call for her and the obstetrician both EMPHATICALLY insisted that a C-section was a MUST under the circumstances – the chance of me rupturing my previous incisions was too great!! That experience alone was enough for me to switch to a new family physician. I had also had a number of the same types of incidences as previously mentioned here – long wait times, rudeness from the doctor and her staff (who also acted very immaturely), feeling rushed through appointments, and generally as if I was a “number”, not a patient. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!!!

I think Dr. Jain is rude and uninterested in anything other than making money. She has zero personality and is extremly abrupt and pretentious.
