If you manage to see Dr. Jarvis she is an amazing Doctor. Unfortunstely she’s more interested in being a cosmetician than she is in being a doctor. If you have a wrinkle she’ll see you right away. If you have skin cancer you may die before you get an appointment.

I’ve been going to Dr. Jarvis for several years. I have found her to be an excellent doctor — caring, detailed, knowledgeable, respectful — but it is difficult to get a timely appointment. When you do, you end up waiting for a LONG time, which might explain the unhappy faces in the waiting area. As for staff, the office manager can be rude and dismissive, but there was a new person when I last visited who was a major improvement. I continue going to Dr. Jarvis because I like dealing with her.

Ok so I have seen Dr. Jarvis 4 times. My family doctor sent me to her for a mole. Dr. Jarvis looked at my mole and said it was just an age mark, no problem. I thought that was it and was ready to leave but she asked to check out the rest of my body. Guess what. She found cancer. It was a mole on my side. I never even noticed it. She took it off, did some testing, and sent me to a surgeon for a bigger operation. I’ve seen her a few times for check-ups. Dr. Jarvis saved my life.

Dr. Jarvis is wonderful and so caring. I never mind waiting for her because I know the patients that need more time and attention get it. But her receptionist is the least cooperative and most difficult I have encountered.

Nothing but good things to say about Dr. Jarvis. I find her to be both caring and knowledgeable. She never makes me feel like she is in a rush, takes the time to answer my questions. She also looked after both of my parents for around 8 years and they always enjoyed seeing her. The last few times I saw her I was seen very quickly, and actually the secretary (Deesha?) took the time to call me and let me know they were running late. I feel I am in good hands with Dr. Jarvis – she even took the time to call me at 9:30 at night to discuss a test result with me. I highly recommend this doctor.

She's not bad, but chronically late. And it's not the typical 10-15 minute wait as with other doctors, but it's an hour or two, which is plan unacceptable for people who do have jobs. She helped with some skin problems like acne, but did not help with others, but if she can't help, she tries to refer you to other specialists. I saw another dermatologist after her, who was terrible and realized Dr. Jarvis is not so bad except her lack of time management.

I have been seeing Dr. Jarvis for 12 years. She's an outstanding doctor! She's very knowledgeable, helpful, and caring; she's even called me at home when I had special worries and concerns! Her receptionist, Ann, is also helpful and very pleasant to deal with. The only quibble I have is that Dr. Jarvis is sometimes late, but that's not always in her control (she's on call to treat burn victims at Princess Margaret Hospital). All in all, she's a great doctor!

When I call to make appointment the secretary's phone is just ringing or off the hook and that will go on for days.

I think the other comments here are all probably right: you never know what you're going to get in this office. Dr. Jarvis varies from very helpful and caring to so stressed out that she can barely talk to you. I've had 4 appointments over the last 8 months and none were less than an hour late and one she never turned up for at all! Her style is so variable that it's hard to tell what quality of advice you're getting. Unfortunately, I've had to deal with quite a few doctors lately in my life and most of them have been pretty good at promptness and consistency, things that are greatly lacking here. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere for a dermatologist.

The worst experience of my life. I am still trying to recover. Run from this doctor as she tries to guilt you with her niceness to make you think she knows what she is doing. She does not know how to treat cosmetic dermatology concerns. I have no idea why she is working at such a reputable place like Spa Medica on the side of her own practice. Do not trust her with a Fraxel Machine. She does not know how to use one. She is always late and now I understand why because she is trying to work out problems with other patients that have also been unhappy with the work she has done on them.
