Saw him only once during treatment and had to wait a LONG time at that, and he didn’t seem like he wanted to stay and answer all of my questions (granted, there were a few since I only saw him once at the end of a month long treatment, but c’mon man…I have cancer and I have questions!). Absolutely horrendous followup with paperwork for insurance. No sign of paperwork after 2 months!!! I don’t need financial stress added on to my condition.

Dr. McKinnon is one of the most caring genuine doctors I have ever met. He is kind and concerned and made a very difficult situation much easier to bear.

Do NOT take your insurance paper work to this doctor. HE WILL NOT DO IT and you will wait (even with terminal cancer) for a long time before it gets done. Go to your family doctor or anybody else would be better

Referred to him for after treatment for primary cancer. He had little interest in doing follow-up scans of any kind for the detection of metastases. Offered no recommendations for preventive action, no suggestions for treatment if mets do appear. Just climb on an ice floe and float out to sea, I guess. Not sure if he is unaware of the promising drugs and therapies in the field, doesn’t believe in them, or has no budget to implement them. Anyway I’m educating myself and networking with others who have the same disease. I’ll get proper treatment one way or another if the situation arises.

My mother was given two years to live after her mastectomy.Five years later she is still in good health and enjoying her 98th year. This due to the meticulous work of Dr. McKinnon who eliminated all residual cancer after her surgery.
