Dr Fowke is an incredible doctor. It’s disappointing to find peoples comments on here, being mean for the sake of being mean. Dr. Fowke delivered my son, and it was an amazing experience. I felt safe, and comfortable- empowered by the process and involved in any decisions or interventions that were required. Dr. Fowke always gave me the amount of time I needed in my appointments to answer my questions and concerns. To the obese smokers and drinkers, what are you looking for? A pat on the back? Dr Fowke is a physician who is responsible for her patient’s best interest; you will be hard pressed to find a doctor that will condone such unhealthy behaviors. Dr. Fowke also does not have any religious views that prevent her from practicing ANY aspects of medicine. The world needs more doctors like Her!

I have had a few visits to this doctor and it is always consistently horrible! She had to deliver my baby because my delivery doctor was out of town. She made it the worst experience ever! She had a resident doctor with her and I requested that he not be involved with my delivery because I didn’t feel comfortable as it was with a new doctor, let alone another person in the room. She completely ignored my request and actually pressured me into allowing him back into the room. Looking back on it, completely unacceptable for someone that is claimed to be so good with a laboring woman. Just recently saw her again for unrelated issue and again I was totally frustrated and did not answer any of my questions. Was desperate to seek medical attention and unfortunately she was the only option. If you can avoid her, I would!

Dr Fowke has absolutely NO bedside manner, and rushed me through my appointment without paying attention or concern to my reasons for visiting. I went in to request a referral for an ultrasound after having been experiencing terrible pain in my stomach, and after my physiotherapist felt a lump of sorts. Scary. So I went in, told her my medical history and that I would like the referral – she scoffed, said she felt no lump (even tho I could still feel it when I showed her where) and scheduled me for blood tests and a gastroscopy (tube sent down my throat) with her husband. She had her nurse call me back with the results of the blood test to tell me I’m anaemic (something hereditary, that I told HER about at the appointment), and after I had the gastroscopy, Dr Macdonald scheduled me for…you guessed it…an ultrasound!! Things continued to get worse from there, but I don’t have enough room to type it all. I would absolutely NEVER return, and would suggest the same to anyone who asks.
