Dr. Blackman made an incorrect diagnosis on me when I was 12 or 13 and had me on some serious drugs. I sure hope he stops practicing soon before he hurts anyone else. I am concerned about the long term effects of the drugs he had me on.

met with Dr. Blackman when my daughter was admitted to the psych ward at the Royal Alex following a suicide attempt. He was verbally abusive, blamed her school for her problems (an arts school) and accused her of wasting taxpayer dollars. Since then she has received help at another hospital following another attempt, and is being treated for anxiety and depression and doing quite well. Dr. Blackman failed her completely and added to her distress and that of her family.

Very straight forward. I think that the rating on here has to be taken with a grain of salt. With him being in the field he is in, some patients may not necessarily be there voluntarily which would definitely altar someones opinion about his services. His credentials are impressive and I believe he has lectured at the university level. I trust his abilities.

Met Dr. Blackman in relation to a WCB Appeal claim and follow up and he was late for the appointment and during the interview was worried he was going to nod of on me. After several hours of taped interviews I was provided with a 5 page report that appeared as if it had been written by a 5th grader. It contained many errors and when subjected to peer review was deemed as being 5 pages of nothing. Dr Blackman also commented on issues outside his field of expertise (unless he is also a medical doctor) and despite a number of requests, his office has not provided me with the recording of the interview. Will be filing a formal complaint with his governing body.

I am starting a malpractice suit against this evil man. He must be stopped. Was a abused traumatized child but wouldn't recognize my abuse instead accused me of drug use and threatened me to keep me locked up or incarcerated until I was 16 if I didn't admit to the drug use. I was 13 and was very anti drug at the time and had never even been around it. While I was there I was lock in solitary confinement for 12 days, was stripped nude of clothing by two abusive nurses. I know their names and addresses. I compare him to Joseph Mangula using children as experiments. I've read all these reviews and most are very true. He is a child abuser and will be held accountable for his actions. Class action suit would bury him. Once my human rights lawyer gets a little further I will be asking for more to join to suit to make sure he is removed and hopefully jailed. I told you on my release date that I would never forget that abuse. Dr Blackman, you underestimated me and should have treat me for child abuse not drugs. I was treat for 7 months for something that didn't even exist! 30 years later I'm still dealing with all of that plus the defamation of character, wrongful accusations and severe PTSD For being held in solitary confinement. I will sue and will fight this to the death! Don't bring your children to him no matter what!

I had several appointments with Dr Blackman and he was nothing but disrespectful and arrogant. I tried to express many times that I was in need of major help yet he chose to disregard my requests and conversed with me only about what I thought of movies, political debates and various random subjects. My file mentions that I am a sexual assault survivor yet he made constant jokes about wanting a fantasy girl who "couldn't say no" all to himself, mentioning that I seemed like that girl. I was 16 at the time and refused to see him after only 3 meetings.

This man nearly destroyed my 15 year old daughter when he ran CASA house. His method was to used candy to reward “acceptable” behaviour or to put my child in a straight jacket and lock her in a padded cell for many, many hours at a time for unacceptable behaviour. He force fed my child. She was admitted with clinical depression weighing a healthy 115 lbs. She realized she would die in CASA house if she didn’t get out so she learned how to play their game, by saying what they wanted to hear. In 5 months she was discharged weighing 165 lbs, with no self esteem and deep seated rage toward the CASA system, but she got out and then spent many, many years in therapy undoing the damage Blackman and his staff at CASA did to her.

I saw Dr. Blackman for an Indepdendent Medical Examination. I suffered a serious work related injury supported by organic findings which resulted in the loss of my career. Over the course of many years I was diagnosed by several treating Physicians in addition to more than one treating Psychiatrist as suffering from severe Depression. After Dr. Blackman spent an enormous amount of time by talking about topics that had absolutely no relevance to my file he offered a diagnosis of “Factitious Disorder”. I was absolutely devastated by this bogus diagnosis that no other treating Physician other than a WCB doctor has ever thrown my way. He has absolutely no idea of the emotional impact that this has caused, nor does he care! This is well supported by other reviews in addition to other websites which I would encourage all to read. Mayo Clinic definition: Factitious disorder is a serious mental disorder in which someone deceives others by appearing sick, by purposely getting sick or by self-injury. Factitious disorder symptoms can range from mild (slight exaggeration of symptoms) to severe (previously called Munchausen syndrome). I wonder how many other injured workers have been humiliated with a similar diagnosis provided by this unprofessional doctor who has been performing Independent Medical Examinations on behalf of the WCB for many years? He is definitely your man if you are an organization willing to pay for his “ highly unethical” and profitable services.
