I can’t believe Dr. Coll is still practicing. He took my daughter completely off her meds and left her floundering on her own. There was no follow-up & when we contacted him after she was experiencing difficulties, he completely ignored us, would not reply to faxes or emails. As a result she spent 1 1/2 years living on the streets of Canada and the U.S., paranoid and delusional. Do not trust this Doctor. He pretends to care about his patients but really doesn’t, and doesn’t have a clue as to how to safely taper patients off drugs or how to care for them afterwards.

Dr Patrick coll is a dangerous Psychiatrist. I belive certain people need medication and this doctor deprivives them of that choice. That’s what you’re about though Dr Coll. Depriving all patients of their choices over their own lives. Thankfully I saw an excellent Psychologist 3 years ago who taught me to avoid abusisve people, including therapists and psychiatrist. She taught me that I must have respect for myself and to stand up to bully’s even ones with a PHD. You are “WRONG” Dr COll. Please stop putting negative comments in patients files. You are “Wrong” and have no right too!

Thank you Dr. Coll for your kindness , for your honesty , for not wavering in the belief that meds are not always the right fit , your sense of haha , and most of all for helping me to realize that I want to live ! THANK YOU FOR MY LIFE <3

This Dr. ruins son’s life, he told him it was OK to be off his medications even if he was highly functioning with it. Now my son lost his fiancée,his job & his apt.condo.He think he is better & does not want any help ,even therapy. He did not want to listen to the family’s concerns, shut us off very rudly.

Dr. Coll saved my life. On my first visit, he gave me an extensive list of psychiatry literature. He treated me like a human, shook my hand, gave me hope. After 4 previous psychiatrists, 2 painful hospitalizations, extreme over medication, and being labeled “chronically mentally ill”, I now feel like my old self again. Previous encounters with psychiatry robed me of everything, even my will to live. I am now picking up the pieces of my life which was destroyed by medications and treatment by an extreemly flawed mental health system.

Thank you doctor Coll, I will be forever grateful.

I concur with the previous statement about this doctor. He is not helpful and seems not to really care about helping a person work through the issue. Once he has made a decison about what he believes in troubling you that is it there is nothing to look into beyond that.

This arrogant doctor has tunnel vision. His views on what he 'thinks' will help a patient are very narrow minded. Thankfully I stopped seeing him since I was suicidal and had I continued with his "treatment' my family and I have absolutely no doubt that I would be dead today. He is knowledgeable but does not understand the concept that what works for one patient does not work for another. In my experience I have found that pastoral counsellors or private therapists are much more effective than psychiatrists. Psychiatrists, are not trained to counsel - their primary function is to prescribe and that is by the 'guess', and 'let's try it and see' system. Having said that I know others who definitely need to be on anti-depressants permanently - myself included. In my experience my G.P. was quite capable of finding a suitable med for me.

Dr. Coll seems educated but is not a good counsellor. I agree with the person who said that once he decides what is troubling you, that's it. Very narrow minded and not helpful. Pleasant enough person but that doesn't help a person get through depression and anxiety.

There is one good thing about this doctor, he doesn't believe in a pill for every problem. Otherwise, he is rude, arrogant and controlling. He decides what you need to do even if it goes against your values and beliefs. He gets angry if you don't agree with him. He may be okay for some people, but I would be very careful and ask lots of questions before deciding to have him as a doctor.

Single best physician I've worked with. Nice to be treated by someone who doesn't automatically subscribe to medication, but actually attempts to understand individual challenges and find reasons behind the issues first. Dr. Coll is insightful, approachable, honest and genuine. If you're just looking for a pill to dull issues, see someone else. If you want to take an active role in your own health and recovery, he's a great resource.
