My contact with this man was through one of his patients who underwent back surgery- a disectomy which then had to be reoperated on days later as the patient c/o severe pain post-op. The Dr removed more fragments of the disc and a bulge that he said was new.Prior to the 2nd op the Dr had refused to believe that the patient was still experiencing pain even though it was repeatedly reported to him personally by patient & staff.A few days after 2nd op pt developed high temp and c/o severe pain again- and again was disregarded by Dr and told pt may need counselling to manage pain! High temp continued and relative discovered exudate from wound on sheets-3rd op followed with drainage of wound infection, lots of antibiotics and a hospital stay of nearly 6 weeks!!!!! Not to mention added expense of Drs, blood tests & drugs.Complications happen, sure, but could the outcome here have been better for the patient had there been more care taken and more listening to pt by Dr- who knows?

Excellent pre and post-surgery treatment and advice. Pleasant and straight to the point which I’ve appreciated every time I’ve been to see Dr McCombe for the 2 back and 1 neck surgeries he has performed on me. All 3 surgeries were successful due to his encouragement, knowledge and professional treatment and excellent personal attention. I cannot fault him nor his ‘bedside manner’. His receptionist is also professional, no fuss, efficient and very helpful.

I first saw Peter back in 1993 and he was the only doctor who went out of his way to find what was wrong after a motorbike accident. He was straight to the point of what was needed in regards to surgery in which I didn’t have done back then but also informed me that I could end up in a wheelchair.
2011 arrives and I am in bad shape. I return to see Peter to undergo the surgery and it was the best decision of my life. Thank you to Peter and his lovely wife for all that you have done over the years.

I have undergone five procedures with Dr McCombe over the last 15 years (lumbar fusion, two cervical foraminotomy’s, cervical fusion and a cervical disc replacement). Peter is one of the most knowledgeable medical professionals I have ever met and his examinations are very thorough. Every procedure has been very successful and allowed me to recover quickly and pain free. As much as I do enjoy Peter’s company, I do hope my spine would stop degenerating and I don’t have to visit him quite so often. I couldn’t recommend Dr McCombe highly enough.

At age 19, I unfortunately incurred a workplace lower back injury that resulted in spinal fusion which was performed by another doctor. Many years latter, the spinal fusion had collapsed causing nerve pain, as the nerve was entrapped and resulting in spinal imbalance. After seeing a number of doctors Dr Peter McCombe was the only specialist who was able to properly diagnose the condition and rectify it. The condition was complicated as there were a number of interconnected issues that the other spinal surgeons were so out of touch and it was because of Dr McCombe’s open mind and ability to fully comprehend the concept of spinal imbalance. The other specialist were suppose to be the best in their specialities which was clearly not the case.
